I've been using Kenwood units for years, However, I got this unit, and it came installed with 2018.0 maps. I did what i'm used to doing, putting an unlocked image file on the SD card, but it didn't work this time. Searching shows that newer kenwood units block this method.

The only thing i want to know, if the gps is still updatable, and how.
I try to download the sytem info, that is been given by garmin.
Go to navi, Settings, system, over, and update maps.
But i dont see the system button.
Maps i can download here, but how to install, and how big. ...

We have a Kenwood double DIN head set in our VeeDub. I have been meaning to buy an update to the maps for ages but have put it off as a low priority task. Yes I currently have the dnx7100. I have went through and downloaded the 2018 lower 49 maps for update. Consisting of two rar files. I moved them to a 2gb sd card. When i load the card all I get is a flickering screen unless I remove card. Am I missing files to go with map.img or am I missing steps. I saw asr and cjv files as well as 3D files
