hi all is it possible to get tomtom working on my chinese satnav?

Downloaded one of the darth vader voices on the forum here and fastactivated the voice without realizing my previous tomtom map would get overwritten... So now my TomTom doesn't even work.

I am planning on doing the update anyway and was wondering if I could get some assistance.

my device is a XL 540 and my version was 9.510(something of the sort). my device comes with Advanced Lane Guidance and IQ routes.

I recently bought a TomTom GO LIVE 820, but sadly the map is outdated :/ ...
It's my first GPS, so i'm kinda a noob with all this ...
I was looking for several way to update the map ... official and other ones ...
i wanted to know if my tomtom is compatible with the map i can find here or the GO LIVE 820 is too recent ?

Trying to update current map. Have downloaded USA and Canada map
915.5074 and extracted files. Will put Map on new SD card.
Should I copy all files presently on SD card except Map and then run Automatic Installer and patcher with new SD card in computer?

Hi,

It's been about 6 years since I last patched my TT Go530 which is now running as a 950. The current map I'm using is Europe 850.2800 and my OS is 483784.

I've looked around and it seems that it is still possible to update and patch maps etc. Before I get deeper into the current methods/programs etc, is it possible to update my SatNav and maps?

I'm having a problem reloading software on my Tomtom XL. I've reformatted the drive and would like to start fresh as if the GPS device were new (to be honest I'm not confident about my backed up data).
