I have successfully installed tt navigator7 (ver7910.9185 and UK and ROI map ver830.2307) on an SD card in a binatone and was wondering if it is at all possible to patch the new version of tt home to recognise the unofficial hardware and use mapshare. I have tried downloading the patchfiles from this thread:

Just a question out of interest really i am new to this tomtom modding lark. What is a "dsa Navcore" as opposed to a normal se navcore?

There is not a SE version YET!! FastActivate will patch this navcore, but it will have device specific emu & features.

i have tomtom one xl.

i deleted all files from my device (except ttgo.bif and ttsystem).

and i installed SE_Navicore.8.412.1236_32mb_device and USA and Canada 880.3867 with autoactive.

after that, my device stuck at tomtom screen.

it doesnt change anything

help me plz.

I've got a tomtom one xl. - Loaded with GB and Europe maps. - A few years ago I bought what I thought was an original tomtom southern africa maps on an SD card.
Works great. When the SD card is inserted into the Tomtom it boots up to the Southern Africa Maps.

However these maps are around 5 or 6 years old now. So I'm trying to ...

When backing up your TomTom, it is safest to 'Show' Hidden Files first.

Under Windows 7 the procedure is differnt to that under Windows XP:

Click Start, the select Control Panel

Click to open Folder Options.

Click the View tab.

Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK.

That's it - otherwise follow the procedure detailed elsewhere under 'Tutorials'

After upgrading a friend his TT GO 300 (4D00.300) to bootloader 5.5128 (to get SDHC support), and to NC 8.412 (to get IQ-routes) the unit, when its in his car, in the mount, doesn't automaticly power up anymore when he turns his ignition on.
