Hi all im new here and looking for some advice.

Have a tomtom xxl and heard I could update maps etc by patching instead of having my pants taken down by tomtom everytime.

I have used patches before on other programmes and jailbroke iphone etc and am not totally stupid but didn't want to do anything that screws the device up.

Can anyone give me the simple steps or point me in the direction of ...

My original TomTom One V2 had Navcore 7.
I patched the core some time ago to a version 8.4xx Navcore
and updated bootloader to a 5.5x. ( I will check exact versions
before updating)

I now need to patch the Navcore to a version 9 to use newer maps,
however I have a question regarding the Universal Navcore Installer

using the NZmap from here and meta code, on a TTone XL running 9051 navcore
It sees the speed cam files in the map and patches them but wont patch the map,device says map cant be used on this device
any ideas as i have checked map v navcore table and it should work

Removed all reference to TT Home from pc and registry, installed again and patched with FastActivate, still getting the same error.

I have just bought a 4Gb MicroSD card for use with my new SatNav, inserted into the unit and allowed it to "Format" the new card by answering "yes" to the TT on screen window. I was hoping to put truck map on, when I connect my sd card to my PC and I cannot see any extra memory space,
