Hi There,
I am quite skilled updating TomTom systems, but know close to nothing to do so with Garmin systems.
A friend of mine asked me to help him with updating his Nuvi52 Western Europe.

First of all, is this possible?
Can I just copy an unlocked map image and that's it?

I see some maps are marked wit NT and some NTU, or as IMG or Gmap...
What are the differences and which one ...

Do you know how to get spoken text alerts, like for example:
"speedlimit is 50" if you ride to fast, or
"speedcamera in 500m"

I can barly hear the alerts due to the "Bong" sound and the low volume of this sound.
In the settings all selections are set to 100%

I have a Garmin Drive 50LMT, and whenever I connect the charging cable to my car's USB port, it immediately goes into MTP mode. I.e it shows the screen with the orange icon showing the device connected with a cable. I have a lot of trouble trying to get it back to viewing maps.

Is there a hack or a way to permanently disable MTP mode, so I can just have it charging ...

I got good help here a good while ago putting tomtom on my mio moov, now I am trying to get this nuvi up to date.

I have downloaded the unlocked map & put it on, it works, but I cannot find a working link for the additional files that go with the unlocked map so i dont ...

Hello. I downloaded city navigator 2019 NT and now i have lots of img files and i can see them on mapsource but all goes well till i cant search any address on my device. It says '' no detail map installed'' Any help would be appreciated.

is it possible to add a profile for the truck on it?or I need to change the whole firmware to the Dezel 760 firmware?

Will igo 8 work on a Garmin nuvi52

Purchased NUVI 2689 LMT and then purchased a European Map thinking that it would be updated automatically with my North America Map. But I was wrong as Garmin gives no support whatsoever for separately purchased maps. Map is not even recognized on Garmin Express. Adding the new Eurpoean maps to my previous NUVI was a piece of cake as it utilized the gmapprom image. The 2689 does not use the gmapprom image but some system ...
