What's the best and fastest way to unlock the mapsource ?

A friend told me about "Garmin Unlocker by whocares!" tool. He said he used to have and it was quick one. I can't find it anywhere or any explanation for it.

All of a sudden my Garmin won't start up. Logo just keeps flashing. Will not connect to pc. Have updated and reinstalled items on sd card but still nothing happens. I used my Garmin in the states and when I arrived in Germany used my Garmin "Where Am I" feature and it showed my departing address in the states. Is this normal? Shouldn't my GPS have automatically shown my Germany location? I changed the country feature and the my Garmin then showed my German location.

I had purchased LifeTime maps for both Europe and North America for a nuvi 770.
A short time later the GPS unit broke beyond repair. I then discovered two methods
