I have a Garmin Nuvi 1300 and have updated the UK map using OpenMapChest and Garmin BaseCamp, as both are free.

I notice that searching by postcode is now missing (?).

Selecting WhereTo - Search Address, yields 'Spell City' and 'Search All', neither of which find a post code. Locale and language set to UK.

Entering a street number, name and city yields multiple results (as there a multiple streets with the same name), ...

I have a 4 year old 66ST and I suspect the batteries are getting worn out. I want to replace the Garmin battery pack with off the shelf new batteries. I realize that the 'pack' of batteries are designed with the sleeve around them so that the button in the unit is pressed to allow charging while in the unit.

Wonder how does routing work with two maps with the same coverage? From what I understand the routing is "part" of the map (.gmap files).

For example I got the latest and greatest 2025.10 Garmin map and also a more recent (couple of days old) Open Street Map (.gmap file). Both are available in parallel on my device but when I choose to only have one active map I get different calculations for ...

I have a Drivesmart 50 LM.
All updates downloaded thru Garmin Express..
Speed camera box ticked.
Still the unit doesn´t detect speed cameras.
Why?

When I connect my Garmin drive to the computor the map files are not visable.
I´ve ticked all options, hidden files, systemfiles etc.
Is there a way to access the mapfiles?

Is the Garmin 36 GTM traffic receiver complient with the Drive safe 50LM?
I´m told that it uses FM to uppdate traffic.
In Sweden we still have FM transmissions.

Hi .. Recently toured Europe in motorhome, taking my Australian Garmin, updated with the Europe map. About a month into journey, Garmin died. Naturally bought a new DriveSmart66 in Germany and trip successfully completed ..

Issue: have now returned to Australia and wish to add the Australian maps to the DriveSmart, and if possible, remove the Europe maps (space consideration).

Appears that I initially need to first add the Australian Region ? Garmin Express does ...
