The navi in my car is not new, its a second hand, works fine, but The garmin Software is old, and i hope still updatable.
It says on the info, GTMxx Software version 4.60 and a Navigator ID.
The Map version is, City Navigator Europe NT v9, and City Navigator Europe NT v9 ALL
Software version: 2.60
Audio version: Claire - v1.40
GPS SW Version: 3.00
And a registration code.

I have a GPSMAP 7610xsv unit and was using unlocked maps on an SD Card for several years. In 2018 Garmin introduced an update to the firmware for this (and many other) models that disabled the use of third-party maps, and rendered the map unlockers useless. I've recently bought a nuvi 2699 with version 8.50. I've connected it to computer ( Garmin Express) and done the update. Once the device rebooted I lost completely the mass storage mode tried all tutorials online including changing mode from mtu to mass storage.

Now, is it possible to roll back to version 8.5 with the micro sd ?

I am planning a sailing trip from Canada to Australia.
I have in the past loaded BlueChart Americas 9.5 and Blue Chart Pacfic onto my garmin 76cx to use in the cockpit and also a laptop insibde running opencpn.

My 76cx has died - corrosion on the sd card contacts means it can't read maps.
