Could someone please explain to me what the differences are between these 2 maps?

I'm aware that 8816 does not support CSpeech/ASR and yet is much bigger in file size. Does it contain more map detail (eg buildings etc) or is it that it's a specialist map (eg truck etc).

Europe_1005_8763 --- 2.85 GB
Europe_1005_8816 --- 3.49 GB

I have an TomTom XL IQ Routes Edition with navcore 9.510.
I have downloaded and installed map US East South Central 1005 8764 for which a meta code is available.
Running Fastactivate, I get the error
Incomplete Map(s):
US_East_South_Central-101438.meta => .dct ERROR

What could be wrong? I tried my best to identify the suitable map for my model, but I am not sure it is.
Can someone help me?

HI every one I have got a 2010 renault trafic with carminat tom tom not live it did not come with sd card so put card in got loop did I have installed 995 8510 uk and roi maps TT go. Bif file created navcore installed put in tom tom it full boot up then says problem with map ran fast activate Ranton tom home and it says map not activated can't find a meta ...

I have this system in my car but my dvd is from 2004.
Is there a way to update this to current or as near as possible ?

Anyone know what could be the problem? It doesn't seem to be any obvious reason.
I have tried two different 1005 maps, both Europe_North_1GB, which both have meta codes available.
FastActivate always complains about .dct error.
I also tried an auto-installer package with 1005.8767 map, but the end result was the same, Tomtom said that the map cannot be used.
I have previously used 995 maps successfully with this same device.

HI I do not have a remote for my 8842 does any one no if any bluetooth remote apps work have tried a few they find tom tom navigation but don't controlle it thanks
