Hi, Ive downloaded and unipped all four GB discovery map GMAPSUPP.img files and they all have the same name and three are the same size approx 2.5GB (one is slightly smaller). Do I need to combine all four files into one .img file somehow? Also do they need unlocking?
Thanks

Hi yan,
You click on the first one press the shift key click on the last one that will select all. Then right click your mouse and extract to its self that will give you the image file. I then used GarminUnlockerAlternativev6.3 to unlock it. It works fine on my 62ST and Basecamp recognises it.
Hope that helps
Ian

Hi ianmb, thanks for that, all seemed to work fine and it produced a 2.5Gb GMAPSUPP.img file, so next step - unlocking it!

I downloaded "GarminUnlockerAlternativev6.05" which seemed to run through the unlocking ok and came up with successful message.

Then tried loading the unlocked file onto the uSD card and tried it in the garmin edge 800 - but it says "cant unlock maps"!

Any ideas?

Thanks again for your help........

Have you tried loading it directly onto the Garmin. I don't know much about the edge 800. But if you have the room try loading it on. Do you have BaseCamp?. If you do does it recognise the GB

Cant dod that as the the edge 800 only has 105Mb of on board memory and the GB discovery map are 2.4Gb. Maybe there is a different way of unlocking the map?

Hi just wondered if anyone had any ideas how to unlock the GB Discovery maps to work with the Garmin Edge 800? It seems so close now!
Thanks

Nice video, but already for some years no more up to date. With JM-KeyGen you can only unlock maps with FID less than 2200. For most actual maps you have to use Image Unlocker.

Please can you tell me the best files to download for my etrex 3o, locked or unlocked? I thought unlocked as perhaps they work right away or is it that they have a password provided to open?

Do the locked maps need a key-gen or something?

I have read all the posts in this string to learn how to install to my device and unlock if locked but in the string above it says "yes, is locked use this to unlock " but there is nothing showing I think perhaps you put a link to "this" that was something to download to unlock?

I am downloading all maps I already purchased from Memory Map at considerable cost that will not allow me to use in my new etrex 30. Huntsman has posted several I already purchased - what do I need to unlock the maps with please?

Thanks, hope you can help, best wishes, Dave.

A map has to be unlocked, before you can use it on your device. So you can download already unlocked maps or you unlock them yourself with an image unlocker from our software section. Today I prefer and recommend gimgunlock from gimgtools.

I downloaded all the 50K unlocked twice but the 7 parts open into one archive and that archive will not open, it's saying error. So I tried downloading Northern England & Midlands (again twice in case of download error) but it's the same problem. Have you any ideas? I am using latest version of 7-Zip and also WinZip, both say the files are faulty.
Thanks, Dave

Use JDownloader to download the files and the integrated unrar function or current version of WinRAR to extract.

Hi, thanks for getting back so quickly. I just downloaded the latest trial version of WinRar but it's the same as in the other two WinZip & 7-Zip. I can't use (or don't know how) a download manager as I don't have premium Netload access, so you can't get round the waiting times to copy and paste the link into the download manager. I never had any problems downloading part files and download a lot of files so can't see that all the downloads have failed twice each time so it seems I can't get this .img from you.
Thanks anyway but perhaps it's time I gave up, best wishes, Dave.
