@ronand
what is the difference between the 2 jcv files. which should I use with east and west, should i only use one of the files or both for both maps?
the Garmin CN Europe NT 2021.20 map had 1 jcv file each for east and west, I'm always confused about the jcv files. eg what the numbers mean and full screen and split screen etc.

i want both east and west in my map folder, because why not when there is plenty of space on the sd card anyway
i have a nuvi 1490t so guess i should have full screen jcv files?

AFAIK D2504310A.jcv is when you install All of Europe (2 img files) & D3090280A.jcv is when you install Western Europe as a region.
Some examples

okay so you say I need to use D2504310A when I use the 2 unlocked img files that are provided in the torrent file?
does it do any harm to just put both jcv files on and let the gps figure out for itself which one it will use?
I moved the files manually to the sd card I have not used any program like mapinstall to install the maps.
so my file structure is SD/Map - west Europe.img and east Europe.img and Garmin/.system/jcv - D2504310A.jcv

Hi! I didnt tried but i believe that both files can exist in the same directory. Me when i use the Garmin Express for an update those files are installed automatically in the same directory no matter which region they cover you may try

the .system folder is on the device, if using an SD card you can put everything as below .I found using D3084280A.jcv & D3090280A.jcv you seam to get [Please Register or Login to download file] .As kolokythas suspects you can have multiple .jcv files in the JCV folder as long as they have unique names.

i understand the hidden folder on the garmin and stuff. :)
i have changed maps on my gps 4 times before this version :). its the jcv files that i am trying to understand how they work?
but why do you also have D3084280 what does it do compared to the others D2504310A and D3090280A.?
D3084280 was not included in the torrent.

JCVs are collections of images of motorway junctions. They contain Links to the various Maps (through the MapID) and show the relative image when approaching this junction.
Each JCV works exclusively with the Maps to which it is linked
tbhlucifer wrote:but why do you also have D3084280 what does it do compared to the others D2504310A and D3090280A.?

D3084280.JCV is the "reduced" version (it has less images) of D2504310A.JCV. Both are relative to Eastern part of Europe.
D3084280.JCV and D2504310A.JCV are alternative each other, no need to load both.
D3090280A.JCV is relative, instead to Western part of European Maps.
Several JCV images are shared in both files (Norway, Sverige, Finland, Danmark, Germany, Swiss, Austria, Italy, Slovenjia, Hrvatska, Greece) due to "strange" division of NT Maps made by Garmin

City navigator Europe 2022 install help

Postby redfish » Thu Jan 06, 2022 3:55 pm

Hi
I am new to the forum and would appreciate some help on how to install City Navigator Europe 2022 to my Garmin Nuvi 205w sat Nav.
Reading previous posts on this forum, i understand i have to download and install 2 files - North and south -, but i am a novice at this
and need all the help i can get. If someone could offer a clear step by step guide with the necessary links to all the files needed and where
to put them it would be a great help. Thankyou all
