SP apps use the D3836090A.JCV SplitScreen otherwise exclusively for the nuvi xx series [30/40/42/44/50/52 etc].

The entire NA 2015.10 exceeds the FAT16 2GiB file size limit which I believe nuvi 3x0 is subject to. Even 2014.40 NA All was 2,256,928,768 bytes around 2.1 GiB. You may have had only a partial NA before. The FAT16 limit is actually 2 GiB less 1 byte [2,147,483,647 bytes].

I'm using an sd card not the Internal memory and the full 2014.40 works.

Not in any of my 3x0 or 6x0 devices it doesn't. If I make an image slightly under 2GiB using MapInstall it'll work fine in them though.

EDIT: Sorry my error, above info was actually for 2015.10. I've now tried all of 2014.40 [2.1GiB] on an SD and it loads and WORKS! I cannot explain this behaviour, other maps 2GiB and over won't work, I can't understand why only the full 2014.40 NA does work in these devices. It shouldn't work as it's well over the 2GiB minus 1 byte FAT16 limit. Anyone can explain this?

I'm seeing 4 or 5 JCV files.
How do install this on an 855?

AFAIK your device use full screen JCV, so you should try D3153140A.JCV, D3060140A.JCV or D1279220A.JCV (US & CA only).
Replace the old JCV file on your device or copy it to [SD]\Garmin\JCV\.

No, best not load two jcv files covering the same map area, you should use only one. However although your device only supports full screen, if you load the D3191130A.JCV or D3836090A.JCV split-screen file meant for 2xxx and 3xxx devices it will maybe display but will show expanded out to fill the screen and looking less sharp because of its lower resolution in 212*234 picture size.
