You are right, netload.in is deadly slow.

I recommend following:
  1. download CNNA_13.20_MS from post #1 - these are fast zippyshare links
  2. extract downloaded archive with WinRAR or 7zip
  3. the map has to be unlocked with UnLock MapSource Directory - copy it inside the subfolder \IMG\City Navigator North America NT 2013.20.gmap and start it with admin rights
  4. install the package with CNNANT2013_20Update.msi in subfolder \IMG\
    You will get the programs BaseCamp, MapInstall, WebUpdater and the North America map installed on your PC
  5. then you can create your own map image with MapInstall and send it to your connected device or SD card

I downloaded UnLocked Mexico & Jamaica map in this thread . This file I put it in SD Card. When I turn GPS on, it show a mssg 'cannot unlock map' Does anybody know to fix it?

I how do I install just install North AMerica onto my device, because it's asking me to select by city, that's pretty weird and it will take ages.

Just mark the map tiles you want by pulling a rectangle with your mouse and/or klicking on single tiles (in Garmin MapInstall).

Install the package running the CNNANT2013_20Update.msi file, the setup will install BaseCamp and MapInstall too: replace the original exes with the patched ones.

Maps are already unlocked.

Mapsource v6.16.3 Original installer included.

This torrent is for 755 and handheld units. No additional files for latest and greatest Garmin models.

I just updated my friend's 255w with the latest NA maps. His internal was too small also. So I put the entire download on a SD card. On the SD card I created a folder called "Garmin" and put the entire "gmapsupp.img" into it. It worked fine and the maps were read. Don't forget to disable or remove the "gmapprom.img" on the internal garmin folder first as well. You can disable it by simply renaming it to something else. I renamed it to oldgmapprom.img so I would have it if the new ones didn't work.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
