Thank you very much...but it did not work, I did all as per above description, and when I inserted the micro sd card into my GPS unit, no map were found, when i click where to, it says can not find map or something like that, and when I drove, no route was shown, so I put back my old map from 2014.. what am I missing?

Hi

Can you Show us what is on the card?

screen shot of format and folders etc

there could be a file structure that is incorrect thus it does not see the files.

hope you formatted the card before hand to ensure it FAT32

If you use the program [Please Register or Login to download file] device manager I think you will be able to see what is going on. If not you can use the the report function. Extras>Report and then give us the link
Before you post, "The archive is corrupt or damaged"
Please make sure your archive software is up to date or just Use the latest [Please Register or Login to download file]

format sd card again and unzip files onto card or unzip and copy files onto card.

bad news, I did exactly as you said, same problem, DATA MAP UNAVAILABLE, and shows no route nor map on home screen.nothing wrong with my unit, NUVI 1390 T, when I put my old map from 2014 on different SD card, it works fine.

I remember You that "gmapsupp4.img" is not recognized by your Nuvi 1390
Rename Map as gmapsupp.img and retry

Maybe a mapsource version will work. as that current setup was same issue with mine, but that file format resolved my SD card, and works for me.

unfortunately only a 2020 version of the Gmap mapsource version is on this site. unless somebody else has a copy to share.

the above map is for Mapsource or Basecamp.

once installed on mapsource or Basecamp then use Mapsource / Basecamp to send data to Unit. you will tell unit where the data gets stored. do not directly copy these to unit as that is different type of files for PC Mapsource / Basecamp.

check under Tools anS software section for Mapsource and Basecamp and how to install.

Mapsource & BaseCamp tools to create maps using the gmap folder on a PC.

There seems to be some confusion going on here.
Initially you said you had a nuvi 1490 & then later a nuvi 1390, fortunately they have the same map structure for an SD card.
Your last post was asking for MapSource & BaseCamp, even if you master these programs this is only going to create a gmapsupp.img that you will have to place correctly on your SD card.
Without you being able to share how you have arranged the gmapsupp.img & D3058280A.jcv files we are going around in circles.
Download & unpack both folders Garmin & Map to a clean Fat 32 Formatted SD card.

when I put my old map from 2014 on different SD card, it works fine.

This suggests that there is a problem with the other SD card you are trying to use or the way you have formatted it or placed the files.

Hello Guys, thank you so much for the maps.
however I have NUVI 1490, I downloaded the maps for the middle east, but now I need help please on how to install those maps on my micro sd card..

BTW I downloaded the maps from 1 link as 1 file, I think was 920 Megs and then I downloaded the maps from other link and the were 13 files I think and each is about 100 Meg, so I can install those maps on my device or on my SD card.. please help..thx

Thank you guys for your support, however no of the above worked, on both cases, it says NO MAP DATA AVAILABLE.
First I replace Map folder name with gmapsupp.img, but did not work.
Then I downloaded City_Navigator_Middle_East_N T_2022_10___MENA.gmap.rar (502.93 MB) and extracted it to SD card and it gave me same results.. It got to be something that I'm missing...

Thank you so much, that file: MENA_2022.10_SD_card_files_nuvi_13xx_14xx_7xx.rar Worked really well, I did not have to add anything to it, I unzipped it and copied it to a formatted FAT 32 SD card and inserted it into my NUVI 1490 (not 1390, sorry my mistake) and when I turned it, it worked just fine.
