This torrent has the gmap folder,you could have found it yourself !

Do I load to the root directory of my external SD card or make a folder structure?

For a Nuvi 52LM with free UK & Northern Ireland map loaded internally

SD card formatted FAT32 create two folders Garmin & Map(Put both North & South .img's in)

Hello cybernaut friends.
My Garmin Nuvi 3790 GPS is operational again and the junction of intersections already works.
I decided to recopy the files, and I thank you for your help right now, and it worked.

Map/gmapsupp.img and D6210100A.img (re-named south)
Garmin/JCV/D6136100A.jcv and D6166100A.jcv

But my 52LM shows in Map Info:

CN Europe NTU 2020.20
[1] ALL South
[2] UK & Ireland

"Change country" is ok for Spain, Italy etc., but will not find Belgium and other Northern countries.

Any advice?

Try renaming gmapsupp to North ,if the UK & ROI maps on the device happens to be gmapsupp.img they will clash.
Try changing the extension on the UK & ROI maps from .img to .UK to test you can change it back later
