Re: City Navigator Europe NTU 2024.20

Postby c0077 » Mon Dec 04, 2023 11:44 am

Hi. How can I see the "City Navigator Europe NTU 2024.20" map on PC, just to check some streets on Romania, made in june 2023? I updated my old 2015 map on Garmin nuvi 1490T and I still see some old streets that shouldn't be there. I'm not sure if "NTU 2024.20" map is not updated with those new streets or my Garmin still read the 2015 map, that's why I want to check the "NTU 2024.20" map on computer.

Welcome to the forum ,I moved your post to this thread as your nuvi 1490 is not compatible with NTU maps.
You can download the gmap folder and use MapSource or BasCamp on your PC, but it would be quicker to use simulation mode on your device to check streets.
Use BaseCamp with this map on an SD card

Thank's alot for the map! Just to inform you, this place (N 44°24.540' - E026°11.717' - "Policolor") it's replaced now with a Leroy Merlin shop. I think it's not updated from around 2019. (but you said that they use government info - it is understandable because the government it's stupid). I will use this map till further updates. Thank's again!

How can you create two folders in the same directory with exactly same names? Ive never been able to do that.

Im trying to add eastern Europe and couple other maps(Scandinavia, Estonia, Latvia, Spain, Lithuania, Finland, Poland, Norway. I downloaded the whole thing from torrent file),

So could you please be so kind a show how a proper path on sd card should look like(folder structures) and what files placed in what kind of generated folders? Please

Thank you very much in advance! (L) :tease:

edit: using garmin nüvi 3790

Hi all, new to the forum and updating the maps on my "Garmin DriveSmart 55" Wanted to ask how to go about doing so.
I was supposed to have lifetime updates but I can't update past "City Navigator Europe NTU 2019.10"
I have downloaded the UK & ROI rar file which contained an img file, which according to Windows, is corrupted.

If you are sure you have Lifetime map updates and not getting this when using Garmin Express then call Garmin.

Moved your post to this thread as your device is designed to use NT maps.
Download the West.rar & East.rar from Post #1
On a Fat 32 formatted SD card create a folder called Garmin & place the extracted unlocked gmapsupp.img & gmapsup1.img in there.

Hello. I have a Garmin nuvi 1390. There is not enough memory inside. I added 32GB SD memory. I recorded all the downloaded files on it. How can I specify the path to new maps in the device settings? Thank you.

A little later.
After recording the cards, send them to SD memory. The device turns on, reaches the function selection screen, and turns off. This doesn't happen when I remove the SD.

Welcome to the forum.
I moved your post here as your device was not designed for the NTU maps you downloaded.
This post shows how to layout the file so the device can see them. You can't change the path you just have to follow it.

Hello. Everything downloaded and installed. I'm happy.
But... I have some questions.
1. Why are all street names only in Latin?
2. I have two directories (Garmin, Map) on the SD card. What other data can I add from the downloaded files so that I can have cameras and traffic lights?
Thank you.
Sorry for my English. Translator helps me. :022:

Hello,
I'm a new member and I've downloaded the Central Region for my Nüvi 1240, but it seems that the files doesn't work because after installing them, my nüvi 1240 tells me that no navigation files are installed/available. Do I do something wrong or does this files not working for my nüvi 1240?

Thanks for reply
