The memory in my nuvi 860 ATL is max 3.3 Gb and all other maps are larger.
Can you help me to get the right img file that fits in my garmin.
Is there any software for MAC so I can do it myself ? and what do I need for it.
Thanks,

Your device uses NT maps.
Post 1 has two options
Central Region 2.78 GB.rar
Western Europe 3.12 GB.rar

Your device is capable of using the whole of Europe with an SD card Read
The difference is Large 611 MB has more Junctions views ,Small 298 MB with less Junctions views is used on devices with limited storage.

Hi,
I have Nuvi 2597, with hardware version V3-00 SA3 8GB 128mb250 AO5 BT RDS
Software version: 5.50

May I use these maps 2024 for whole Europe and how to do that?
Which size of SD card I need to use and what exactly to copy there?

Hi,

Your device does not use NT maps, you need to use NTU maps.

?

Before you are able to use Unlocked maps your device will need to be Patched .
Look in your garmindevice.xml to confirm your HWID
then go to post187300.html?hilit=1582#p187300
<PartNumber>006-B1582-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>550</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>nüvi 2597</Description>

Your device is compatible with both NT & NTU maps, for Europe Garmin uses NTU maps to enable the use of [Please Register or Login to download file] on these newer devices

Hello!
I have an old Garmin nuvi 1490.

When I bought it many years ago, its main map in internal memory was CN Europe NT 2011.32. Later I installed on SD card Cn Europe Ntu 2019.20 (two separate files - EAST and WEST and two separate JCV files - D6165070A and D6212070A.
My question is, can I now use the new City Navigator Europe NT 2024.10 FID 9588 on this device? Which JCV files should I download - large or small?

Since I have to travel in Greece, does it make sense to download only the Italy and Greece package? In this case, because the map is smaller, will the device run faster, or does it not matter? For Italy and Greece which JCV file should I download?
Thanks!

The difference is Large 611 MB has more Junctions views ,Small 298 MB with less Junctions views is used on devices with limited storage. So depends on your SD card size ,you will not notice it running significantly differently.

Welcome to the forum.
the .rar downloads are the WinRar achieve files which contain the various files.
But unfortunately your device will not be able to use them, read this earlier post

Hi, thanks a lot for the post! :023:
My questions:
1) Could I use it on a microSD with my Kenwood DNX5260BT? What is the best choice for me: NT or NTU?
2) What about the limitation of microSD-size: 4Gb or more?
3) If the limitation is 8Gb or 16Gb, could I write 2 maps {as Garmin/gmapsupp.img + Garmin/gmapsup1.img} together on it? Is it supported by my device?
4) Could I use 2 arbitrary maps (e.g. Germany + BeNeLux & France) as that pair {Garmin/gmapsupp.img + Garmin/gmapsup1.img} or it works only with East & West map files?
Thank you in advance!

Please go to the Kenwood section, this post shows NTU maps work
