Nuvi 30 is better using NTU maps in Europe,so there is no JCV with EU NT maps for it.

I'll upload the latest 2020.30 map and JCV later today for UK & ROI for nuvi 30-40-50

UK & ROI for nuvi 30-4x-5x ....

Yes,as there are only two options for Europe NT they both will work on nuvi 13xx 14xx just depends on how much storage you have.

D3084250A(480x270)Smaller.rar

D2504280A(480x270)Large.rar

I'm sure your device won't have enough space for the complete EU,but it will fit on a FAT 32 formatted >8Gb SD card ,just download from Post #1 and extract with the latest WinRaR. Create two folders Garmin & Map in the root of the SD card.

SD Card:
Garmin/JCV/D2504280A.jcv
Map/gmapsupp.img

If you want to update the device choose a region to download that will fit ie: UK & ROI and change the map name from gmapsupp.img to gmapprom.img and replace the out of date one in the system folder, same with the jcv if your 13xx has it.

How to update Nuvi 765?

Postby RJ45 » Fri May 15, 2020 9:06 pm

Can someone show me the way to make a Nuvi 765 up to date again?

Current maps are, according to the map info screen:
CN Europe NT 2015.20 3D &
CN Europe NT 2015.20 [1] BeNeLux

Have no idea about firmwareversion, did not find it in the short time I had the device in my hands.

Do I need to update the OS/Navcore/Firmware?
Wich map is the most detailled and recent for the device wich will fit for Europe (or part of it)?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Check out Post #1,your device storage most probably won't accommodate all of Europe,so choose one of the regions & update gmapprom.img, gmap3d.img in the Garmin folder.Your device also has junction view, there are two options depending on space available, place in Garmin\JCV.
You can use a FAT 32 formatted SD card & place the same files in a Garmin folder you need to create.

BeNeLux 493 MB (517,988,352 bytes)
gmap3d.img 963 MB (1,010,794,496 bytes)
JCV
D2504280A.jcv 690 MB (723,751,615 bytes)
D3084250A.jcv 326 MB (342,576,232 bytes)
I would sacrifice the gmap3d.img(3D buildings) if I had to

The last Firmware update [Please Register or Login to download file] was about 8 years ago nuvi7x5_GCDFile__450.gcd so I would just use Garmin Express to get it.

Thanks!
I have SD-cards lying around in all sizes from 2-32GB, so space shouldnt be a problem. The 2 *.jcv-files you are referring to, are they for a specific region?

A 4 GB SD should be optimal for your needs, 8 GB if you want to Upgrade to Full Europe.
The 2 JCVs are both referring to entire Europe
D2504280A.jcv 690 MB is the Large one (it contains more images), better to use if space isn't a problem
D3084250A.jcv 326 MB is the Small one (it contains less images)

Thanks for the quick response and detailled answers, GarmanNuvi & FireFox58.

That was an easy upgrade, even for a "Garmin noob" like me. The firmware was already 4.50, so that saved me the hassel of installing the Garmin Express software.
The files:
gmapsupp.img + gmap3d.img + D2504280A.jcv
together, are 5,55GB and after putting them on a FAT32 16GB Class10 SD-card in a directory "Garmin" the map was recognized without any hassel.
To be sure my friend uses the "right" map, I removed those files from the internal memory.

All works fine. Thanks again.

garmin nuvi 1300 map update HELP please :)

Postby FeSTeRphil » Tue May 19, 2020 5:43 pm

Hello, I'm trying to update the map on a garmin nuvi 1300, it's running (up to date) software version 6.30, but (out of date) map version CN Europe NT 2010.20 [1] UK & Ireland, and help would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully an idiots guide on how to get this done if possible, it's obviously an older system from around 2010 which I'm trying to update for other family members to use, by system memory or SD card, to the latest (up to date) map version please. Thank you, FeSTeRphil.

Moderator note
Very easy just replace old gmapprom in the .system folder on the device with the one below

UK & ROI 387 MB (406,388,736 bytes)

I understand what you have said but I cannot find the system file or any of the file names you mention on here, what am I doing wrong as this is driving me crazy. Please can you explain a little clearer, literally like an IDIOTS guide on how to do this, and any more information you need please just ask, I am willing to update the system memory, or an sdcard, could you explain both methods, is it possible my garmin nuvi 1300 is locked, is that even a thing, is it possible to just replicate what garmin would do and update this thing without being ripped off, this has ruined my weekend !!!! .. thank you, FeSTeRphil.
