I have an old Garmin StreetPilot i3 and wondered if I can update the maps in it? I only wanted GB (or GB & Ireland) but don't know where to begin with this. I don't know if it will run these maps anyway, perhaps I am looking in the wrong place. I keep searching for "Garmin StreetPilot i3" but get no results (I know it's very old).

Just spent a lot of time on Garmin's site and it will not offer any compatible maps so I will ask you.

I have a TomTom 1 and have just fully updated it no problem - please can you point me in the right direction and then I can try to figure it out myself?

Re-installation on Garmin Streetpilot i3...

It's OK I sorted it, very easy. I just tried the map after finding a blog that said all the NT Maps are compatible with the i3.

For anybody else that might ask the same question, simply remove your SD card and place into a mini-card reader (or a reader built in to your PC or Laptop perhaps).

Open the "Garmin" folder on the SD Card via My Computer and if you want to first save a copy of the existing "gmapsupp" file (this is your old map). Next replace it with your new "gmapsupp" extracted from your choice of map region/s downloaded from here. As long as you downloaded unlocked maps (from here) you shouldn't have any problems. It worked first time for me.

OMG. I am having so many problems trying to get new maps for my NUVI 200. I am not the best when it comes to technical stuff and downloads but at this moment in time I want to throw this thing away.

I have used webupdater to bring up to version 5. thats done. now im dtrying to find new up to date maps which are free to go on the sat nav. I have found these above and when i click on links it just says against rules and no file found. WHAT DO I DO? HOW DO I DO IT ? SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME . Quickly losing the will. thanks in advance. I am a total newbie so can't help you myself but there are some good people on this site so don't give up.

I know how you feel, I had a lot of head scratching with my Tom Tom One and although I got several replies it all seemed very difficult. I also felt like throwing the thing but sadly it's in need of serious patience! Don't give up, take a step back. Also stick to one subject like installing the maps, leave messing with the system as it's always best to use the latest firmware the manufacturer provides for your device.

Have you registered on the site? I know you can't get the links unless you register but I don't know if you can leave a message if you haven't. It usually says your have to register to see these links (if you're not logged in).
