Just unlock it yourself with gimgunlock, it will take you seconds

Is this for your nuvi 3760 ?
do you have an SD card ?
After Unlocking the .img files with gimgunlock (link in the post above yours)
On a FAT 32 Formatted SD card arrange the files and rename you have as the image.

Not sure, as I in the past I have uploaded the maps from my computer on to the device directly.

If you are used to copying the files directly and there is space that's good,

So I have unzipped all the .rar files and found three .img files - gmapdem.img, gmapprom.img and one file in the Map folder D5084330A.img.
If I run these through gimgunlock, what shall I be getting? Is there a new file created or is the existing file modified in some way?
Also, the directory structure you had pasted above, how do I get the files gmap3d.img and gmapsupp.img in the Map folder?
Sorry for asking so many questions.

If using an SD card the map name needs to be changed to gmapsupp.img from gmapprom.img this is the Map you can see the size if copying to the device it is unchanged.
gmapdem.img You should have this in the .system folder on your device already.
D5084330A.img.Not for your device.
You drag and drop the img file onto the icon/.exe

Hello,
I'm a newbie here and could really use some help.
After unlocking the files, as described in the instructions above, I tried loading these maps through SD card in my Nuvi 2589 but got the error - Can't Unlock Maps.
This is a used unit that I bought from eBay and looks like it has life-time South Africa maps. After reading further, I realized that I need to patch the unit in order to use these new maps. However, the links to the universal patcher for this model are dead/expired. Would appreciate any help in getting this running. Thank you.

Below are the model details from GarminDevice.xml -

If you have unlocked the maps the error would normally be "Maps are corrupt and cannot be used" or similar
After Patching your device use a FAT 32 formatted SD card max 32Gb ,create 2 folders Garmin & Map and arrange/rename as the image below

Yes it's still available with older devices ,but Garmin seems to be moving away from having that option on newer devices.
