navman s30 wont unlock

Postby combat goofwing » Thu May 16, 2013 4:42 pm

had a post over in the tom tom forum but as i cant even get the device unlocked then i would post here first to get unlocked before trying to install any sat nav software

the device is a navman s30 delux 32mb device
when i tried to unlock the device via the metod on this thread
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?8018-Run-Tomtom-on-Mio-Moov-and-Navman-S-series-(and-some-F-series)-in-ten-steps
by using the steup.exe, the install desktop is greyed out and not selectable and the application..startup sec.ini has ??? beside it
i have since been told some s30 devices cant be unlocked this way

so which is the easiest option to unlock the device

I have read through the visual unlock method but it seems no information on the S30 or what to change so i am not sure if i can use this

i have done loads of stuff on tom toms but never tried mio stufff so any help on getting unlocked then moving on from there would be great
i have put a 2 gig SD card in the device so unlocking from device or SD is an option

thanks

Bear in mind the Windows CE/Mobile version of Tomtom is a basic point A -> point B version with no frills.

It will never be updated and is considered old software now.
