advice on F37m

Mon Dec 16, 2013 6:13 pm

I bought this sat nav in 2010 for UK use - cheap n cheerful job

since moved to France and want to add a France or Europe map.

I havent got any idea how to do this without paying 50 quid to navman which is just silly as i could get a new satnav here for not much more.

so what can i do with it ?

The Navman F-series is (afaik) Linux based, the OS is made by Navman itself, therefor you are stuck to Navman software and maps.
The F37m is even dated 2009 or sooner (!), so one thing to ask yourself is : is it worth it?
And I am afraid updating without the help of Navman is not possible.

There are some newer F series navman's that are Windows ce based, if you connect it to the pc what do you see?

BTW the navman smartst/spirit software has not been cracked, so you can't add new maps without paying for them.
But you can change the software...

Thanks to both of you for the replies , based on that i have downloaded a free app to my Iphone and will try that for a while.
It is unlikely to be quite as accurate but see how i manage with it for now.
The app works from the downloaded map and the location of the mobile handset therfore avoiding data charges.
:048:

navman can do one as i hate being ripped off and £50 to download a map is exactly that.

Did you see this? You can change the contents to more current.
