Funny, if I use the 510 Navcore for my XL from it's own thread it works. Using your automated installer gets me a rotated screen, and the device doesn't boot after the first shutdown.

I also noticed that with the automated installer the Icons are different, they look more modern and not the TomTom default that I was used to.

Hi,

I upgraded a Rider 2 to NC 9.500.
The original maps stayed in place. Is it correct the Lane Assist images do not appear because they are not part of the Rider 2 map?
So a map update is also needed?

Thanks,
Marten

Yebsolutely, The navcore has got to be able to process the map. The map has got to have the Lane Assist functionality.

1. OK
2. OK
3. Maybe, it depends on your currently installed map. Maps are Navcore specific, not device specific. There is no such thing as a Rider 2 map.
4. With your 9.500 navcore, you can use ANY 915.XXXX map, that is available, usable (meta code for it is posted) & will fit on your R2.

Thanks. I mean NavCore specific indeed. The Rider2 Navcore has no Lane Assist function, so the original can be used with NavCore 9.500, but will not show the Lane Assist images.

1. Because ALG had not been introduced when Rider 2 hit the retail market.
2. You are correct. Post 79 point 4 addresses your map options with NC 9.500.

XL devices are always a bit tricky.
If you are happy with your current menu than keep it.
Otherwise I suggest for my Navcores to use a different emulation, X40 seems to be prefered.

What do you mean by
A: There is no Skin Chooser and the emulation is not correct
Open the file "reskin" on the folder "skins" with Notepad++
Edit the first entry so it show the emulation you want to use.

I navigate to the last menu options and see the "Car Option" Greyed out. What should the entry in the file look like if I want x40 and x50? Currently it looks like this:
slf-Self;slf-Self;37-GO x50;18-GO x20;25-GO x30;24-GO x40

Will this fix my issue? Thank you in advance!

The two slf entries specifiy the current emulation in use - slf means it runs like what is on the label of the device.
So replace the first two entries with the emu you want and off you go.

Downunder35m - Thank you for the reply!
This is the only entry I have in my reskin file and the "Care preference" is still greyed out.
24-GO x40

tendriver - when you say this will not fix my issue, can you provide insight as to why not? Everything looks to be good on the device. Perhaps I have a bad map version to application combo?

You should have at least 24-GO x40;24-GO x40 in the reskin file, but by default there are more, so someone already edited the file.
And to have the most common emulations available:
24-GO x40;24-GO x40;37-GO x50;18-GO x20;25-GO x30
With that you can switch between X40, X50, X20 and X30
