The BEST NAVCORE is always the latest official version for any given model.

1. There are many non-official versions that will run on a 910, but that isn't what you needed to know.
2. A 910 doesn't need a Basicpack version.
3. Are you referring to mapshare updates?

1. 9.205 is OK. You don't need the basicpack version.
2. Confirm that you have verified that everything in TT Home, Tools, TomTom Mapshare are set correctly.

So I have a 910 also that I would like to update. It currently has 7.903 and boot 4.8600. I've downloaded the latest DSA and read/searched for info, but it isn't clear to me which CAB, skin, and bootloader I should be selecting from the list. Any help appreciated!

Update ... tried some combinations, but so far the only thing that has worked is:
8.332.go7000.CAB-navcore-GO-WORK.cab
18-GO x20
Boot is now at 5.5274.

The v9 CABs that I have tried have resulted in the unit constantly rebooting.

Update: 8.398.go_work.CAB-navcore-GO-WORK.rev1.cab also works.
9.000.go750.CAB-navcore-GO.cab also works.

If you use the DSA tool and a X10 device, you might want to try the CF check box, it will add support for CF cards and the built in hard drive.
Some x10 devices refuse to boot properly if the CF support is not included in the Navcore.

Thanks for the suggestion ... I tried checking CF support with the latest navcore listed in DSA (9.205.rider3.CAB-navcore-RIDER.cab) and it did not help. Strange because I've seen reports in the forums of people having this version working on a 910, so I wonder why i'm having trouble. Could bad maps (too old or whatever) cause the rebooting?

You'll need at least bootloader 5.5128 to use a V9 Navcore on your device.
If you have not taken care of it your device will have the highest bootloader that was included in the Navcores you tried.
In general it is best to do a clean install on an empty device.
Before the first start a Hard Reset and the TT Clear Flash Tool.
For the rebooting there is a solution in the tutorial section ;)
If you use your old mapsettings.cfg with the new map - try it without your old favourites first.
The main question is : do you need a V9 Navcore or would a good V8 do the trick?
Basically you only get a 3 pane status bar and a different menu look, the rest is still like the V8 Navcores.
One other option would be to talk directly to DSA8310 as he uses a X10 TT himself and might know a few more tricks;)

I did update the bootloader to 5.5274, so I don't think that is the issue. Good point re. just running a V8 navcore ... I didn't realize there were so few differences. However, since I was able to get v9.000 running I think I'll just stick with that for now. One of the reasons I wanted to go higher was that I had downloaded a newer map only to discover it was not compatible with 9.000. I have now downloaded one that is compatible, so I think all is well. I'm sure that you are right ... there must be something that needs to be cleaned up to fix (i.e. removed from the disk) the problem. Maybe I'll play some more later, but so far enjoying the new features (was previously running a V7 navcore). Thanks!
