I have had my XL Iq Routes Edition now for about 5 or 6 years.
I recently had the TomTom plan a route from Noosa (Qld) to CoffsHarbour (NSW) whiich is around 530km.
I asked for "Fastest Route" but after arriving it was obvious I got "Shortest Route".
I ignored the TomTom on the way home, taking what I thought was the fastest route. It took TWO HOURS less!!!!!!
A check on the internet proved that TomTom had indeed picked the shortest route (by a couple of kms), but the route forced me to spend many hours winding through country hills.

Since this trip, I have confirmed that the TomTom picks the "Shortest Route" when I select "Fastest Route". The Tom Tom also uses "Shortest Route" when I select "Shortest Route".

I am currently on Navcore v 9.510 (factory install).

2. Confirm that in Main Menu, Change Preferences, Planning Preferences, you have Always plan fastest routes checked, as well as IQ Routes Enabled.
3. 9.540.2 navcore is current for ALL versions of XL IQ Routes units.
