Request some advice

Mon Aug 12, 2013 7:59 pm

Hello,

Thanks for reading,

I have a TomTom xl / 330 serie.

application v7.521
32 mb ram
gps v1.21, start 5.5011
map 'western and central europa 2gb'v715.1730

I like to update my TomTom with the newest Western and Central Europa map.

I have did it manually before so the updating is not the problem.
The only thing is, I don't know which bootloader, navcore and mapp I should do.

I have seen the thread: TT model, bootloader and Navcore info from Downunder35m but there are different choices.

Can you give me some advice?
& can someone tell me what the different is between installing the bootloader & navcore manually and updating it with TT Home?

Thanks,

Bart

You should update the NC via TomTom Home. It's outdated now.
Don't worry about the BL. Yours is fine.

I suppose that TTH will offer you NC 8.010 as most recent NC.
Find out your exact TT model [Please Register or Login to download file]
Take a look [Please Register or Login to download file]
When TTH will not offer your further application updates above 8.010, I would advise using the incredible NC 9,465 by Downunder.
That will enable you to use the latest maps with more details and features.
Your only limit will be the 2GB disk space if you have got no SD card slot.

first of all thanks for your help.
Only I dont understand why you say that i need to find out my exact TT model? Because I have did it all ready... see my post.

And I still don't know which bl + nc + map i need..
The NC 9,465 is not compatible with my TomTom xl 2008 / 330...

Can someone help me out?
Like to know which bl + nc + map i need..

thanks,

greats

TT has got several types XL.
XL 330 serie is not a official model which I recognise.
That's why I requested you to follow my first link to get a firm and 'official' pinpoint of the exact type.

I do not expect that your TT will be compatible with NC 9.465.
I expect that TTH will go no further then 8.010. That's official!
But that does not automatically imply that you can't use 9.465.

A TT One 2nd edition with only SD card can be made to run on NC 9.465.

Why don't you begin with connecting it to a computer and updating it via TomTom Home ?

Why am I repeating what I said yesterday?

Thanks again,

this says TomTom:
XL (30 Series) / 330 - 2GB

because it let me update to 7.522?

but ok, I will try 9.465.
The steps that I think i need to do:

1. back up my Tom Tom
2. Delete everything
3.Copy the files from nc 9.465
4. Patch the NC with fastactivate
5. Instal the map with auto installer from navitotal

Thats it?

like to hear from you.
thanks again

Tendriver can you give me some advice?

I was thinking the NC 9.465 and map Western_Europe_910_4973 with Automatic Installer & Patcher

DOES THE AUTOMATIC INSTALLER ALSO PATCH MY NAVCORE?

Thanks,

A. TT Home installs navcores 1 at a time in sequence. You may have to do several updates to get the current official version.

Updating
1. Back up to your desktop, using copy & paste
2. If you are going to use 9.465, just copy it over the top of the current official version, overwriting any common files.
3. See point 2
4. Downunder's 9.465 is pre-patched.
5. It is just as easy to use the non-auto-install map version & patch it with FastActivate. 4956 or 4973 are OK, although 4973 is primarily a Carminat version.

You're in the very best hands with tendriver!

The TT dropdown menu for TT models only specifies XL 30 series. That's why I was not sure about 330.

Did you use downunder's NC 9.465?
Resetting it might help but I think you have to change your skin/emulation.

Do you see the Skin Chooser on the last page of the general menu?

Wed Aug 14, 2013 11:51 am

yes I used the nc from dwnunder

When I click on the midlle of my screen to go to the menu its get stuck..
So i dont be able to go to the skin chooser..

thanks for helping

Then I think you need to manually edit the reskin file via your computer.
(Read this and following posts for some info.

But wait for the assistance of tendriver. He will help you out. Don't worry.
