Please advise: new navcore for TT One (4N00.005)

Postby Downunder35m » Fri Mar 15, 2013 3:35 pm

Well, better, but I was giving you the hint that your FA is outdated ;)
Never mind, with the right meta.txt it works as you found out.
Back to the boot:
Open the file "reskin" inside the folder "skins" with a good editor like Notepad++
Save a backup of the file on your PC.
Replace the text with:
33-simple;33-simple

Save the changed reskin back into the skins folder and start your TT.
It should start and give you a 2pane status bar.

You're welcome!
You can check other emulations the same way as above by using the values in the backup of the reskin file.
Make sure to always use a double entry like in my above example.
So for X30: 25-X30;25-X30 and not just 25 or X30.
But I selected the 33 because of the 2 pane status bar which is often prefered for small screen devices.

I definitely have to check out more emulations. The X33 seems all right, but i'm missing out on some on-screen info.
As far as I remember, there used to be 5 available route info available for the on-screen display, of which one could choose 4.
Now I only have 3 options, of which I can choose 2. By route info I mean ETA, speed, time, remaining distance, etc.
Anyway, it's all about fine-tuning now as the device works great !

With emu set to X20, 30, 40, or 50, there are 6 options & you can select 5. Of course that is with 3 panes.

That's just great ! It even has an app for that: the skin chooser, I found it in the menu, i think it comes with the 9.500 navcore.
I tried different emulations and have settled on a 3 pane one, it looks good ... what can I say, i'm really pleased with myself at this point regarding the TomTom :)

The only downside: coverage for Romania: 16 % ...

Cheers !

You can really please US, by editing your posts to delete the all of the pix, now that they are no longer needed.

THANX!!

I didn't mention anything about Thanx. I was not/am not offended at all. Yes, please. The pix are of no further use & they take up a lot of space.

For further references you takes screenshots on your device or simply use use our tools to post the devices specs in text.
Pics are usually not necessary to show a few lies of text and only blow up our database;)

Sorry for the misunderstanding ... seems like my English is not the best ...
All the pictures were hosted externally on photobucket, i didn't upload them here.
Anyway, I removed the pictures and only left the links, but if you wish I can remove those too.

1. Not a problem!!
2. They still take up space, regardless of where they are hosted.
3. Thanx!! Leaving the links is OK.
