Please advise: new navcore for TT One (4N00.005)

Postby Orvo » Thu Mar 14, 2013 11:24 am

First hello to everybody around here ! You do a really great work !

My first post here concerns my TomTom ONE that I really like, but which is doing a really bad job when it comes to road guidance.

[Please Register or Login to download file]

So please help me to update it to the latest/best available software version, including maps.
I read through this post but I'm still a little unsure on the right version to choose.

So, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
My goal is to have the latest software and the best Europe map available.
I have a 4GB SD card that I can use.

Thanks !

It is entirely up to you what Navcore to choose.
The best is always what TT Home offers you ;)
Have a look at our tutorial section.
So I suggest you have a look at my 9.485 or 9.500 and start testing.
By the way: there would have been quite a few threads in regards to ONE and new Navcores ;)

Thanks for the info !
I re-added the pic but removed the personal info.

I downloaded the 9.500 navcore (the one with the nice installer) and ran it onto the SD card.
The device seems to boot just fine, so I may be on the right track here.
Now I'm downloading the "Europe_905_4799_with installer" map kit, but it seems like it will take forever and a day to finish all the parts and wait in between downloads ...
Anyway, in the meantime I'm copying on the SD a map package I found on the webz (Europe_2GB_900_4602) to see if and how it will run.

Thanks for the help so far !

No problem as long as you understand, that for quality control reasons, we don't support downloads from elsewhere.

Flashed the map, but the device keeps rebooting as soon as I choose the voice language.
Will update as soon as I have your map downloaded.

In the meantime i'm downloading the "Navcore 9.485 installer for most TT models[THR].torrent" as well.

You will not gain anything by using 9.485 instead of 9.500.

I thought maybe I'll get rid of the bootloop ...
As far as I understand, "done by the book" in my case should mean Navcore 9.485 with Europe_905_4799.

Sorry, it was just a figure of speech, what i meant was "best possible way" ...

Anyway, I put the new maps (Europe 905.4799) on the SD card using the installer (SD card in PC, not through device) and then, again using the installer I put the 9.500 Navcore.
Now I get the following red screen error at boot: "Problem with map. You cannot use this map on this device: Europe-745".

What should i try next and why is the error message stating Europe-745 ? Shouldn't it say Europe-905 ?
Thanks for all the help so far !

You want Europe 905.4754.
And you can confirm if FastActivate was successful by checking for a corresponding .dct file inside the map folder.

Thanks ....
So I want the 905.4754 .... i just spent 2 days downloading the 905.4799 installer files :|
Well, guess it's back to downloads for me then ...
I'll check to see if the .dct file is present.

If you would have checked the map chart you would have opted for the full featured map in the first place ;)

Navcore 9.500 + 905.4799 maps =

Content of map folder [Europe_905_4799]:

FastActivate executed on the root of the SDcard:

So, before I format the SD and start all over again with other versions of navcore and maps, am I doing something wrong here ?

@Downunder: But I chose the full-featured map, didn't I ?
I mean, it's the only one with all the European countries. Am I not seeing something here ?
