TT One XL

Sun Jul 28, 2013 2:27 am

Hi

I'm a newbie to this forum and to updating GPS navigators in general and I wanted to update my TomTom One XL to a later Navcore and maps. I am completely unsure of how to do this and I needed a full tutorial. What is the latest version of Navcore that I should use?

My System Information from TomTom Home gives this info:

ttgo.bif file contents:
[TomTomGo]
DeviceVersionHW=LIMERICK
DeviceSerialNumber=XXXXXXXXXXXX
DeviceUniqueID=XXXXX XXXXX
RamDiskVersion=20040301
BootLoaderVersion=10012
LinuxVersion=1000
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
UserLanguage=English US
UserName=AKHIL
LastConnectionTime=2009/07/31,18:19:42,UTC
LastConnectionPhone=,
GPSFirmwareVersion=Unknown
CurrentColorSchemeCustom=10,H:\schemes\0001_Google_Maps_Optimized_For_Tomtom.clr
CurrentVoiceInfo=Lori
CurrentMap=USA_and_Canada
CurrentMapVersion=675.1409

SupportedPatchTypes=1f
NrSupportedErrorTypes=132
UserPatchDatVersion=102
CompressedPatchVersion=150
MapServerPatchDatVersion=104
DeletedPoiDatVersion=200
ServerLineIndexDatVersion=102
ServerNameIndexDatVersion=102
MapShareSupportedProviders=203
CharacterSet=Latin-1

Of course there is more info but I picked out the relevant stuff. Basically I have a 1GB One XL with 32MB RAM currently running on Navcore 8.010. I need a USA & Canada map and any later version of Navcore that is perfectly compatible with my device other than the official latest one offered from TomTom Home. It would be nice to have TTS and IQ routes among the other new features available.

Thank you very much for your help!

System Information from TomTom Home is no good!! Please post the ttgo.bif contents directly from your device instead.

Make a backup of your current setup, by copying it & pasting it to your desktop.

1. NEVER post your DeviceSerialNumber or DeviceUniqueID!! As you can see, I Xed them out for you.
2. Your current navcore 8.010 is OK.
3. Read the Download Instructions: in post 1 of the All New Maps 910.XXXX thread. Download United_States_910_4952 [823MB]. There are not any usable 905 or 910 US&C maps, that will fit in your 1GB unit.
4. Unzip the new map. Remove the old map folder. Copy the unzipped new map folder into the unit.
5. Patch both navcore & map with FastActivate 23.07.2013. Read the instructions carefully.
Done!! Disconect & reboot.

Sorry tendriver, you Xed out nothing.
Please try again.

I'm using tendriver's navcore 9.465 on this one, working good. Few problems with the 9.510, mainly in skin emulation, so rolled back to the 9.465 which is good and enaught for me.

Yeah, but there is little use in putting a higher NC on it if you can only store a <1 GB map on it.

I'm using a SD card, and a >1gb europe map

Oh yeah, in that case it's definitely worth to use a 9.xxx NC for sure ! :thumbup:

Thanks for the reply! So I am going to purchase an SD card and then go with the 9.465 Navcore.
Now for the SD card, how many gigabytes can the one XL support and can it be a SDHC card?

Also, if I use an SD card, will I have to put both the Navcore and maps on the SD card or can I use both the internal storage and SD card for this?

Finally, can you kindly post a tutorial on how to install the new Navcore and maps or at least redirect me to one?

Thanks again! :)

[EDIT]: I've noticed that there are two versions of the Navcore 9.465... the GO X20, X30, X40, X50 version and One IQ Routes, XL IQ Routes, XL Live, Xl IQ Routes², XXL, Start², Start XL, Start Classic, Easy version. Which one do I need?

Simply select one of my installers in the Navcore section.
As for the other questions: check our tutorial section and the 910 map thread - not that it would be too hard to find ;)

Sorry I am having trouble finding the installer in the Navcore section. Can you please post a link? And also, should I use the Navcore 9.465 GO version or One IQ Routes, XL IQ Routes, XL Live, Xl IQ Routes², XXL, Start², Start XL, Start Classic, Easy version?

Ohhh and also, will I be able to get TTS on this device?

Did you actually open one of the Navcore threads I posted there?

Yes, is the installer just the navcore file itself or is it a tool?

And it doesn't appear that you have 9.465 posted, do you?

Sorry for breaking in this topic, but I have exactly the same TT and I'm looking to load USA maps on it.
I've updated the navcore and loaded the new maps (United_States_910_4952), then run FastActivate (23/07).

This is what my device info gives in FastActivate:

ttgo.bif:
DeviceName=TomTom ONE XL
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL
DeviceSerialNumber=L1xxxxxxxxxx
BootLoaderVersion=53026
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
ApplicationVersion=1234792.2
CurrentMap=United_States_910_4952
CurrentMapVersion=910.4952

Map(s):
F:\United_States_910_4952\

Storage:
Size 977MB, Free 37MB

When my TT boots, he tell's me he can't find any signal (and puts me on times square). If I want to press on the screen to set my destination, it freezes and reboots automatically :chok_mini:.

Any ideas on how to solve it?

Thanks a lot!

No I did not post a 9.465, was not necessary.

@washi4: Do a clean install on an empty device.
Use Home for the Navcore and FastActivate for the rest.
Did that happen after updating the map or did you do something else?
