If I use NC 9.400 with the new GLGPS file, the GPS works, it find his satellites, but again.....
at start up the clock shows the correct time, but .....
after a couple of minutes the clock shows 00:00.
This is identical if I use the new patched NC 9.451 (from TT Home),
clock correct at start up, but after 2 to 3 minutes it goes to 00:00
as mentioned in previous posts.

That's a shame...it's starting to look like earlier devices with Global Locate chips can't be fixed but Sirf Star chipped devices are not affected

Yes, I've tried some as well.

The One XL (Hammerhead), with the updated GLGPS (thanks fredderf), but otherwise old 9.500 navcore, shows change: I now get 5 satellites instead of 3. Which is good. The 00:00 issue remains.

The One v2 (Sirfstar III) with the new 9.541 navcore has no issues. It finds 5 satellites and does not have time issues.

I've been searching a bit online. (search for "GLTT Navit" on google). It seems that the GL Hammerhead is incapable of producing NMEA output and needs the file GLTT to create a pipeline (/var/tmp/gpspipe). The Sirfstar III does not need GLTT because it produces NMEA compatible output.

My working theory is that either:
* the Hammerhead chipset can't do it
* the Hammerhead driver has issues that can't or won't be fixed.
* the TomTom implementation has issues that can't or won't be fixed.

I saw that there is the "GLLIN" alternative (or maybe it's just a wrapper) for the GLTT (binary) driver/convertor. For NavIt.
I wonder if the GLLIN works correctly, it would suggest the problem is not in the Hammerhead chip, but further down the line.

Correct,
The Rider3 with the updated GLGPS and old NC 9400 works, find his 3 to 5 satellites but shows time: 00:00
The Rider 3 with the new patched NC 9541 (from TT Home and patched afterwards)
find MORE than 5 satellites (sometimes 7 to 8) but time problem remains: 00:00
Solution: delete the actual time and arrival time from the screen, it stil shows how far and how long you have to go.
**
As the new patched NC 9451 is smaller than the patched NC9400, I use the first one
and card Western Europe 1025.**** where I deleted the original cspeech files except the one of my country,
and following files: crpoi.dat - poi.dat - cphoneme.dat
then I added: borders.dat - crpoi.dat - poi.dat - citymap.dat - citymap.met - faces.dat - faces.met
of a BENELUX map (1000.****)
In this case the map Western Europe fits a GPS with only 2GB of RAM
Desadvantage: I only have POI of BENELUX !

Today, I experienced that the Rider 5 has the same "problem" as the Rider 2 and 3.
Clock shows up at startup and after a couple of minutes, it's 00:00
I wonder why Tomtom doesn't fix that one, because the Rider 5 is still supported (end of lifetime estimated 2025 !)
New maps, safety cams, GPS fix and Map share are still available.

If you plug your TomTom into your computer and look at the root files of your tomtom - if there is a PNDNavigator file then you need the LE Navcore - the GO Navcore just uses a bigger ttsystem file and so will not work.

If you use a custom or modified Navcore ie SE version and you don't want to loose all your 'Special Features' then extract the glgps file from a 9.541 navcore cab file and replace the one in the bin folder of your tomtom - all going well it should work - it did for me (Navcore 9.485 TTS on non TTS models).

Are you talking about a XL (exact type) with a Broadcom Global Locate 2 BCM4750 chipset

After updating to this navcore 9.541 on a tomtom go 520 i have an issue that i see when i try to use tomtom home now
It looks like everything is working except if i try to use the operate my device i see this message "the functionality is not yet supported for your combination of navigation device, your devices application and your computers operating system"
I patched the navcore, maps etc and everything seems to work on the tomtom unit but i get this error with tomtom home
The version of tomtom home is 2.9.91 and ive always stopped it from updating as this version always worked
Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you

You wrote .... The version of tomtom home is 2.9.91 and ive always stopped it from updating........
If you updated to navcore 9.521 why not updating your TT Home to version 2.11.**** ?????
I thinks that could solve your problem.
In my case both are working perfect (meaning updates for Radar France, GPS Fix and MapShare;
NOTHING else due to the age of the GPS (Go 630, 720 and 730 are no longer supported !).

So you want to use the pointless 'Operate my device' through TTH...

Download the following file and extract it to (your syntax may be slightly different to this):

C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\0vxvkj3b.default\extensions

This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

Hi,I didnt update to 9.421,i updated to 9.541 and the reason i downgraded tomtom home to that version a long time ago and stopped it from updating and have always used that version is that it was the last version that i found worked correctly with my device and kept all functionality and that i never had any issues with.
Cheers :eagerness:

Pointless maybe to you,not pointless to myself or users that require it to be able to set/change password on their unit :) (actually i wouldnt normally use it apart from this reason,i dont like it,never have)

Thank you for the reply and the link, its now working with that file :023:

Do you know why it wouldnt work with the navcore i had updated to that i used fastactivate to patch?
Also is there somewhere on the site to get these ready patched navcore,i looked but couldnt find anywhere? Thanks again for the link

Yes that is what the readme file said.

! The yDGpatch application is for standard and not for SE patching!
It does not give 'Special Features' to devices that is in SE versions.

HOW TO - Simply navigate to the required TTSystem or PNDNavigator file and apply.

IMPORTANT - If you have a PNDNavigator file, patch it - not the TTSystem file.

how can you seperate for patching, with which app? Because when i use fast activate doesn't give to me any option.
