New Navcore v9.541 released for many NAV2's

I found that running Navcore 9.541 on my GO 910's fixed the satellite lock issue... so does flashing the GPS firmware really work as it appears to be a Navcore issue?
I've now moved to GO 940s and I'm very please with them so I've stored my 910s away with no need to use them again.

The last officially released SirfStar III firmware update (released with Navcore 6.525.7714) was GSW3.2.4TT_3.1.00.12-C35B1.02
This new SirfStar III firmware is definitely much newer GSW3.2.5TT3-CRC32_3.3.01.06-C34P3.00
I may just flash it to see the results... if it works at least it may turn my box full of "pretty now useless" 910s into a few quid on eBay.
If it all goes wonky you can always flash back firmware GSW3.2.4TT_3.1.00.12-C35B1.02 using the files in the Navcore 6.525.7714 CAB from TomTom. :023:

If it works fine there is no reason to flash the GPS firmware.

This week issue actually sound important, as it would relate to navigation, but the problem would probably occur on the week boundaries only. Has anyone seen any problems navigating with old navcores? I have TT XL with 9.510 and would rather not mess it up if I do not have to. How do you actually "patch" it, does running fastActivate would do it?
Thanks!

You only need to patch it if you intend using downloaded maps, it won't mess it up but if you're unsure then do a full backup before you proceed

Yes, FastActivate will do it...see the following page which has the instructions on what to do:

Hello,

I would like to thank all contributors here. :024:

I have been given an old One XL. In good shape, but it had been laying during 5 years far away from any charger.
No update of any navcore or new map (Europe 1Gb) since 2008.
Plus an unkown password asked after a 2 hours charge. Well, life looks better : it starts and the screen is luminous.

With the help of the navcore v9.541, the password and the WNRO questions are quickly solved.
And a new map France 1040 just fits in the 1Gb internal memory. Great, a brand new GPS for free ! :041:
All I just need now to test is the SD card reader : is it still a SD (limited to 2Gb) or is it boosted by the navcore allowing SDHC (4Gb to 32Gb) capacity ?
Thanks again.

Hello,
You need to check the bootloader version if it has SDHC compatibility, see this thread => tomtom-tools/bootloader-tomtom-one-t21255.html

Thanks a lot Micdu70 !
With your help and the thread you gave, I have just upgraded the bootload 5.5128 and now I can use a 4Gb card with navcore + voices + Europe-West. Really great ! That poor One XL is now twice alive.

Download Fastaktivate and read how to aktivate your navcore.

I believe there is a self install version of this one. I copied it, but it was missing the _setup.exe file. Does anyone have th full self install version? I am running a TT Go 700 and it seems I can only get the self install navcores to work. Would this navcore be suited in any event, as the TT Go 700 has 64mb ram.

Kind regards
Isaac

I've never seen a 'self install' navcore...AFAIK, they don't exist. As you say, the Go 700 has 64MB ram so NC 9.541 would be worth a try but make sure you do a full backup first

ALL of the official navcores are listed on the following page: topic907.html
