Installing the standard TTS voices on an unsupported TT can overwrite the TTS patch.
The result would be a greyed out voice or one that stays silent when you test it.
If that is your case than the easieast solution is to instal the Navcore again, overwriting what is currently on your TT - this will restore the TTS patch.

Thanks everyone, but I can't understand why it's not working with the map I currently have installed, it says on the chart that it should work with the computer voice? Can someone give me some guidance on how to install the voice in case I'm doing it wrong, the voice is in a rar file so I'm just opening up the rar file and then dragging the folder into the root folder of tt, then renaming it, is this correct? Also tendriver if I install the other map you suggested how do I remove the current one, using tt home?

Thanks as always everyone :-)

i have reflashed navacore again, i now have a LoquendoTTS folder, where do i find any voices to test with this, any any install instructions, otherwise i think im just going to give up on the voice side of things :-(

Thanks Pete

Not sure, but last time I checked we still a section dedicated entirely to TT voices....

Will try one last time with one i got from the voice thread :-)

Hooray, i think i've done it :-) i copied the files over but this time didn't overwrite the folder with another one as the instructions on the voice thread said, then gave it a try and she spoke to me :-)

going to take it out tomorrow to see if she calls out the street names (i have checked the option for this)

Thanks again everyone, might even now attempt the same thing with my Go520 ;-)

your go520 will support proper computer voices i.e. loquendo tts no need to use vocaliser

Sorry guys it didn't work, although she spoke when I tried the test button, when I set a route this morning she was completely silent, not even a left or right! I was using loquendo tts
I think what I might do is start a new thread just for this voice problem and list everything I've done to try and get it working, hopefully someone out there will be able to solve it :-(

You don't need a new thread for that ;)
First things first:
I assume you use my 32mb version, if so you might want to change the emulation to x40 or x50.
Also it would be good to know how much free Ram you have with a long route in the simulation.

Ok I'm at work now but how do I change the emulation setting and how do I find out how much free ram?

Thanks Pete

1. If using a Downunder modded navcore, go to Main Menu page 4.
2. Main Menu, Status & Information, Version Information, line 4.

Right i dont appear to have anything on my main menu page 4? But i have definitely used one of his modded 32mb cores, This one "Memory boost and Hardwired sound (HS) is for devices with 32mb Ram that stay silent when a computer voice is used."

here are my tt's details...
32MB Ram (Free:10.8MB)

does this help?

Here is what i have in the reskin file, but i have no idea how to edit it?
