navcore for TomTom GO 720

It didn't work. I tried it with the map North America P 865.3254. Same problem. The device recognizes the map but when i try to change maps it says "you don't have acces to this map North-America_303

I copied my ttgo.bif to my sdcard, doesn't work, always same error.

I'll ask you the same question. "For clarafication, are you getting this error when you start your 720 or when you go to TT Home "Operate my GO"?

We went through this on 12/26/10.

tendriver wrote:1. To fix version error.
Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad.-Replace lines 9 & 10 with these:
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8351
ApplicationVersion=9982
"Save as" ttgo.bak
Disconnect & reboot.

Follow these instructions EXACTLY. Do no more and no less.

Live services - NO.

I'm having an error with the log in to my account with the email I'm using for the account. It says " you have an invailid version of tt application etc"

Open your 720 in windows explorer. Confirm that you have a ttgo.bif, a ttgo.bak & a ttgo.ori file. Next confirm that the ttgo.bif & ttgo.bak files have 8351 & 9982 in lines 9 & 10. Confirm that the ttgo.ori file has your actual navcore in lines 9 & 10.

It does work unless your 720 is radically different from my 720.

That may be the problem. I dont have the ttgo.ori file. Where can I get that or how do I go about putting that file in?

To fix version error.
1. Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad.
2. Replace lines 9 & 10 with these:
3. ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8351
4. ApplicationVersion=9982
5. "Save as" ttgo.bak
6. Disconnect & reboot.

Follow these instructions exactly!!

At the completion of step 5, you will only have a ttgo.bak file on your 720. When you shut down, disconnect & restart, your 720 will generate a new ttgo.bif & a ttgo.ori file, giving you the 3 ttgo files needed to stop the Invalid navcore message.

Only one thing which can be done wrongly by others its the moment, when somebody have to save file ttgo.bif as a ttgo.bak If You doing that in notepad, file looks like that after: ttgo.bak.txt so tom tom cant recognise it. The .txt extension must be erased, deleted from file name, then all will be ok. Sorry for my english :)

When saving the altered ttgo.bif file as ttgo.bak by clicking Notepad File, Save as, there is no .txt on the end to erase.

Hi tendriver (again)

Am attempting to update my friend's Go720 and found this thread, hope you can advise.

Am currently running
Navcore: 8.351 (9982/090518)
Map: 840.2562
Map is original and paid for.
This unit has not been hacked before.

Will need latest Australia maps and Navcore.
From my readings of the forums, it seems that 9.205 is the latest functional Navcore but I haven't checked the map versions for AU.

Wonder if you have any suggestions?

What I'd like to do is put the new Navcore and Maps on SD Card and trial that to ensure that it works. I also read your post from another thread saying that when the SD card is inserted, it will be the default and I just have to make sure that there is a specific file there. Will deal with that later but just wanted to let you know, in case I need to do anything different!!

Thank you VERY much :)

9.205 is a Rider 3 navcore. Confirm that you still wish to use it.

1 Do not chase for a large number (9205 is not for your model)
2 - for 720 more will be 9058 or 9160
3-If you want to reliably operate all the functions leave your native 8351
