Can this be made for the navcore 9.541?
For some reason, my ONE suddenly died. I resurrected it by removing the battery, actually by replacing the battery.
It updated to the navcore 9.541 and now when I downgrade it to this 9.510 with auto power on (I love this functionality, btw), it freezes and restart before right after it shows the legal information.

I don,t understand why update to 9.541 and then downgrade to 9.510. Remove the navcore completly and install with 9.510 what happend then.

Well, it updated when I connected it to TT home. I downgraded to 9.510 for the auto power on. I did that few times :) I finally got it working, but now, I have another problem, instead of turning off on power loss or button press, it restarts.
As soon I use 'FastActivate' and install QuickGPSfix the device starts freezing again, right after the 'legal info screen' :013:

It restarts all the time. I might need to start all over again, I suspect it has something to do with current location on the map, even though I deleted the currentmap.dat and reactivate the map.

Yes, many times.
I finally got it to work again. Because copying on this device is a pain.. I was at the point to trash it, but I needed to fix this to avoid speed tickets and 'lost wife' situations :) it's the only GPS that fits in her cars cradle (Seat ibiza 2013).
I failed again yesterday, I formatted the internal drive and install `Navcore 9.510 with auto-power-on` everything went well I added the map, speedcams, changed voices sounds and everything as I had it before. Activate the map and cams everything worked, I was so happy, but when I copied the mapsettings.cfg from the old config, to get the favorites, everything went to s**t and now the device was completely brainless and started to ask me to change language but the screen was unresponsive :013: I could have only selected Afrikaans.
The only way to get the screen working was to connect it to TT home, I updated to 9.541 and format the device again and follow the next steps:
- install Navcore 9.510 with auto-power-on
- copy map and activate map.
- update QuickGPSFix from FastActivate.
- copy speedcams, now it stated to behave weird again, it restarted on the first screen after I pressed the 'I agree' button.
- delete speedcams and all dct from the map folder.
- activate map again.
- change sounds and schema.
- restart few times to see if everything works, it did.
- copy only the speedcams I needed and have int the current map.
- activate speedcams.
And now everything works, I f* hate tomtom now.

I'm trying to understand how this version of NC9510 works, and the role of the file suicide.dat.

Some posts seem to suggest that with this version, after power is removed, the TomTom device enters a standby mode (with a blank screen) which depletes its internal battery, until power is reapplied taking the TomTom out of standby.

Does the time setting of suicide.dat actually determine when the TomTom turns from standby to fully off, thus saving the battery?

Any idea how long the TomTom' battery will last in that standby mode (if that's the way it works)?

Or isn't the TomTom put into a battery-sapping standby mode at all?

Thanks for any clarification you can give me...

There is no role for suicide.dat you can delete it.

Don,t know but you can try it.

Suicide.dat turns the device fully off.

No idea these navcore are made in the past so that you can use it on
other device e.g. 9.540 is not the official navcore for a one

Many thanks, holyhead, for giving your answers to some of my questions.
Anybody else can help with answers to all of my questions?
I'd welcome, especially, answers from downloader35 who introduced this auto-on version of NC9.510 to this forum.

I don,t know if suicide.dat was in the original modified one. It is possible that in the past I put it in for someone else.
ps.
I looked in the original from downunder and suicide.dat is in it.

I have mine set for 5 days standby.. 432000 in suicide.dat, after five days the device is shuting down and you need to press the button.
For me the battery lasts at least 5 days in standby.
