Downunder35m wrote:You mean you installed the CAB and patched it ?
If so than it won't work as your device is not supported that way....

I installed it the way I have all the previous navcores I have used by using the latest 'Fastactivate'.

If this is the incorrect way for this version, which/how should I patch it.

You state that you installed the 9.510 Navcore yet it doesn't strike you as being a bit odd that your GetMy-CFG shows NC 9.430?
It looks like, with all due respect, that you are a bit sloppy considering that you also carry the 9.430 in your signature and boast a BL v. 5.277 instead of 5.5277.

You just might need to revise your procedures but, hey, the forum is filled with the necessary information for you to scoop up with which you can enable downunder's wonderful toys.

I don't know why so many user think we have a crystal ball or some sort of witch board....
@Naviboy:
You here more than long enough to know better.
What we need, if you expect help, is proper information.
"does not work", "as I always did", "used FastActivate"....
Nice but utterly useless infos.
I ask what you installed, instead of a correct answer I get bogus.
You talk about the 9.510 but your config shows a different Navcore.

How about you simply follow the instructions provided with the Navcore and maps?
Not sure why but for 99% of the users this way works just fine ;)

Why has everyone become so perfect crossing their T's and dotting their I's.

The GetMy-CFG I listed the results to show make up of the device. If the NC 9.510 had been shown in place of 9.430, what difference would it make in helping my problem.

Downunder:
"I ask what you installed, instead of a correct answer I get bogus.

9.430 is shown because its a working NC.
I downloaded and installed your 9.510 CAB LE (ONE/XL models) and put this onto my Device and patched with FastActivate (Your Navcore 9.510 #1 page gives no instructions otherwise)

Once the NC had been patched with FastActivate and restarted the device. The screen started with the map of my location and surrounding roadways, and the bottom task bar and quick link box is shown too. All functioned correctly while traveling along the highway and safety cam alerts too whenever one is pasted, no problems seen.

But if I touched the screen to use the menu, the device would freeze and the screen greyed, then restart itself.

I have now downloaded your 'Installer', but was not instructed as a 'must do'. And try again.

The simple fact is that this thread is about the 9.510 NC ;)
You have several options available:
a) stick to whatever NC you like and use a suitable thread to solve the problem
b) use the 9.510 and continue here

If you use my installers you will have several options, your device simply need a version with memory boost.
This thread is blown up with unreltated and for other users totally useless postings.
So far I still don't know what exact version you use, how much Ram is actually free and what else you might have done.
The simple fact that you try to patch the Navcore shows that you either used the wrong one or ignorded the instructions for my installer.
I don't know what help you expect but I do know that I have no clue how to help you if you insist in not helping us ;)

As I've said above I installed your 9.510 for (ONE/XL models) at the bottom of the page (http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12861-Navcore-9.510) with results as already listed regarding the screen freezing when trying to access the menu and no instructions that your installer should be used. And I have a total of 1.8GB of memory spare.

Anyway 9.510 is now all installed via your Installer and operating.

thank you

No voices, alerts since NC 9.510 install

Sat Sep 21, 2013 8:35 pm

Installed NC9.510 for 35MB devices from Universal Installer by Downunder35m.

I have no voice or any Safetycam alert sounds, these sounds and voice were used with previous Navcores and same map.

If I go to through the menu to 'Volume preferences' and 'Test' the voice is ok, but not when adjusting the volume on main screen or following a route to a destination.

When setting the Safetycam alerts with sounds for each type of cam, none of the sounds sound when selecting or approaching a known cam.

Tried re-installing 9.510, manual reset at base of device.

Total of 1.8GB of memory available.

Any clues

thanks

Try Main Menu page 3, Status & Information, Version Information line 4.

No problem. On the Nav screen, click in the lower right corner blue box. This will open the Status Summary page. On the lower right side, click on the small button titled Version 9.510. Free Ram is in line 4.

Thanks

The emulation used is X30

Ram free space varies 4.5/6.9MB when chacked at different times.

Also strange when using TT on a route, 'Tim' and different safety cam alerts sound off. But not when adjusting volume or selecting alert sounds for different types of cams.

I have also tried X20, but no difference.

thanks

Something is not quite right, with the 32mb version you should see a bit over 7mb of free Ram - if LoquendoTTS is used, and around 9mb without TTS.
Check your POI's and deselct all from showing on the map, even 64mb come to a crawl if too many POI's are active.
Did you do a clean install on an emtpy device or did you overwrite another Navcore/version?

Mon Sep 23, 2013 7:27 pm

OK

Loaded a spare clean 4GB SD with Universal ver 9.510 for 32MB and 915-5111 West Euro Map. Ran FastActivate patching map.

No POI's, no safety cams, no sounds loaded and only 'Tim's' voice loaded.

Free RAM space still 4.8/5.3/6.3MB, each time switching on a different figure is shown.

Thanks
