How "updated" can I get my TT One V3?

Postby jslong » Thu Aug 29, 2013 9:58 pm

Here is what I get when I run TT Current Config...

TTGO.BIF:
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v3)
BootLoaderVersion=50500
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7903
ApplicationVersion=9183
TTGO.BAK:
Not Found...
TTGO.ORI:
Not Found...
TTNAVIGATOR.BIF:
Not Found...

Not a lot of info. I figured out how to update the maps to 2007, but would like the bluetooth to work with my motorcycle headset. Is it even possible if I update the Navcore? Do I need to upgrade the bootloader to upgrade the navcore? Any help is much appreciated.

You have got 1 GB storage room and no SD card slot?

If you have only a need for a small area you could use a recent navcore by downunder and use a map suitable for this higher NC.
It's nicest when you can use a SD card because you are no longer limited by the internal storage space of the TT, use bigger maps with ALG on downunder's modded (9.465) NC.

But you would want to have some experience with that.
Or some willingness to read closely the discussion topics and follow accordingly.
Also, don't hesitate and start doing things. If you run into problems get help help on the forum. You will get help and it'll very probably be solved.

If you need the space on your device (say a Europe_1GB map on your 1GB device) you just have to install a 915 (or 910) map with less features but still current road information on your current NC.
Because downunder's NC takes more than 100 MB precious storage space.

You don't have to worry because your device can still perform okay.

If you don't have a SD slot, you do not have to bother about a higher BL. Only if you would want to use a SD card > 2GB you would need a BL higher than 5.5xx

I have 2 GB and an SD card slot, so memory shouldn't be an issue. Just looking for US maps, maybe Canada if I can get them as well.

I expect you can get a NC update via TT home. I think you will get v 8.010 and no further.

Take your pick of most current maps with accompanying meta code and the most recent modded NC from downunder.

Will I need to upgrade my bootloader past 5.0522?

Yes, that's essential if you want to use a SD card > 2GB

But I think you mean 5.5022?
In that case: No, there's no need.

Got it upgraded to 5.5128. I have version 825.2159 of the maps. Will a new navcore get me anything else? I was really hoping to get it to synch with my Scala Bluetooth on the motorcycle.

Look at the navcore/map compatibility chart in All New Maps 915.XXXX post 1. You can see what maps are compatibility with your current navcore or 9.0XX & higher, if you elect to upgrade your nc.
