Go720 Navcore 9.205 875.3669 map FREEZES and REBOOTS

Postby anmh » Tue Sep 13, 2011 2:14 am

Here's my device info:

TTGO.BIF:
DeviceName=TomTom GO 720
DeviceVersionHW=GO 720
BootLoaderVersion=55250
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8351
ApplicationVersion=9982
CurrentMap=North_America_P_875_3669
CurrentMapVersion=875.3669
TTGO.BAK:
DeviceName=TomTom GO 720
DeviceVersionHW=GO 720
BootLoaderVersion=55250
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8351
ApplicationVersion=9982
CurrentMap=North_America_P_875_3669
CurrentMapVersion=875.3669
TTGO.ORI:
DeviceName=TomTom GO 720
DeviceVersionHW=GO 720
BootLoaderVersion=55250
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9205
ApplicationVersion=547817.1
CurrentMap=North_America_P_875_3669
CurrentMapVersion=875.3669

The device boots and displays the map, then the volume control and route selection (no route planned) work when selected, but if you press the map to get into the menu the screen grays out, freezes and then reboots.

This is what I did:

Downloaded and extracted to the root directory of my TomTom:
9.205.rider3.CAB-navcore-RIDER.cab
9205.rar

Then I downloaded and ran part 1 of the North_America_P_875_3669 with Automatic Installer & Patcher

Since the map is already patched I didn’t think I needed to do anything else, but something’s gone wrong because now the device freezes when I try and get into the menu as I described above.

I then did some digging on the forum for people with similar issues and I ended up doing a hard reset for 30 secs then running the TT Clear Flash tool - I’m assuming you just install the TT Clear Flash Tool and then it’s run i.e. you don’t need to execute an application separately after installing it?

Then I ran the device info utility and it said it couldn’t find TTGO.BAK or TTGO.ORI so I changed the following lines in the TTGO.BIF file and saved it as TTGO.BAK: ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8351 and ApplicationVersion=9982. This didn’t fix the problem though.

I’m sure there’s something basic I’m missing, so if anyone could point me in the right direction then I’d be very grateful.

Cheers

Your ttgo.bif still shows the old 8.351 Navcore.
I assume something went wrong with the installation.
You can't just use the cab of the Rider Navcore on your device.
What is the 9.205.rar and where did it come from?

Thanks Downunder. The 9205.rar file came from somewhere on this site, but I've just tried looking for it and can't locate where I got it from. What do you think I should do to save it/make it work now?

BTW, the 9205.rar file contains PDNNavigator and ttsystem files.

After an hour or so of playing around with it I've managed to get it working. I downloaded the X_Navcore.9.205.547817.1.Basicpack and the X_ttsystem.9.205.547817.1 rars then extracted and copied over to the TomTom. Rebooted and it worked! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction (pun intended)
Cheers

However, now the issue is that it says "No maps found!" when I "Operate my GO" from within TT Home. The first time I tried to do it it prompted me to download a file, which I did, bit then it just gets stuck at No maps found.

I sense I'm almost there, but any ideas on this one?

Thanks

You don't really need the simulation in Home, everything else works fine.
If you really need it, simply use FastActivate and patch Home ;)

I tried patching Home using FastActivate but Operate my GO still says no maps found. But like you say, the rest of it works so I'm gonna leave it alone. I want to install a UK map with HNR and postcode searching (which I think is either 875.3612 or 875.3669) but I can't see these options in the 875 download lists. Is this right, and what UK map would you recommend installing? (BTW, I asked this in the 875 thread but I think it got overlooked)
Cheers

Don't loose your time with Navcore 9.205, all TomTom GO devices works fine with Navcores 9.0xx.
I have on my GO 920 Navcore 9.051 and i don't have problems, Navcore 9.205 was on my navigation before 9.051 and after a lot of problems i decide to work only with 9.0xx.
Higher number of Navcore don't mean that this Navcore is the last and the best!

Cheers. My device is running fine on 9.205 now (except the Operate my GO function which I don't need) so I'm just gonna leave it.
