Fullbackup 9.405 incl. AST TTS Tomplayer and Tripmaster

Postby fabio302v8 » Mon Sep 10, 2012 3:55 am

Good night

I'm using google translator then hopefully get me (laughs)

I'm having the same problem, I have a GO730 and installed navcore that you posted that is very good.

Except that when I connect to tomtom home it asks to update the navcore.

I changed the numbers on lines 9 and 10 as you described but it does not generate the file ttgo.ori.

My case has solution? My equipment is a GO 730 with map Brazil_895_4438.

The tomtom home application asks to update for 9430

I thank you.

All you do is open the ttgo.bif with an editor,
change the lines 9 and 10 and after that save the file as ttgo.ori,
also the same way create a ttgo.bak or copy the .ori and rename it.

is not a fact but only a bad guess.
Before you ask for a re-upload you should confirm a link is dead and according to our standards a broken link is reported by PM to the uploader - NOT THAT YOU COULD READ THAT IN MY SIGNATURE!!!

And FYI: the link works fine!

TomTom Home is trying to update your navcore to 9.430, because it is the Current Official Navcore for your 730.
If you prefer to keep the older 9.405 navcore, rather than the newer 9.430, that is OK. Just do exactly what these instructions tell you to do.

To prevent TT Home from downloading & installing Navcore 9.430
Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad.
Replace lines 9 & 10 with these:
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9430
ApplicationVersion=890926.1
Save this change by clicking "File" in the upper left corner of windows explorer, then "Save as" ttgo.bak. At this point, there is only a ttgo.bak file in the root, no ttgo.bif.
Disconnect & reboot. Now you will have a ttgo.bak, a ttgo.bif & a ttgo.ori file in the root & no TT Home upgrade to Navcore 9.430.

I've installed it to my GO 710 and all works perfectly, but the only bad thing is that my device restarts 30 minutes after I shut it down.... Any advice for solving this?

The X10 devices work a bit different because of the support for the dock.
The restart is usally caused by the watchdog forcing the unit to do an internal self check, which in return can cause the device to power up.
This should happen within about 3-7 minutes but never longer than 10 minutes.
I assume it is something not compatible enough, maybe the internal HDD, or do you use a CF card?
One thing you can try is to check the file "suicide.dat" in the root of your device.
It can be opened using a text editor, the value inside is "1800" which is in seconds, meaning after that time the device should go from sleep into full power off.
You can either try to delete the file and wait more than 30 minutes to check, or to confirm it quickly change the 1800 to 60
If you device now restarts after one minute you know the problem, if nothing happens and the device still turn on after 30 minutes the problem is elswhere.

thx,

I will check it !
The 710 uses a SD-card of 4 GB, and has no internal HDD.

Just changed the suicide.dat to 60.
If that doesn't helps, I'll delete the file...
I'll keep you updated

UPDATE:

OK,

The solution is: delete or rename the file suicide.dat.
Now my tomtom GO 710 isn't rebooting from itself.

But now, the battery will discharge quicker? Because the device isn't going into a deep sleep anymore?
But that is not a big problem Image

Thx for your advice Downunder!
Really appreciate it
