Best solution for One XL

Sat Aug 09, 2014 6:25 am

Hi,
I have an old TomTom One XL (32MB), upgraded many years ago with the loader 5.5250 and navcore 8.419 (Start).
I like very much the simplified graphic of my navcore

I regularly update the maps but not the loader and navcore.

In your opinion, is there any upgrade that can give some improvement to my TomTom?

Thanks

If you are a bit knowledgeable I would suggest Downunders universal navcore installer

That works wonderful with latest and with advanced features.

Thanks for your reply!

In your opinion, you suggest me to upgrade?

As improvements I would have only Loquendo? My TomTom doesn't support connections with phone or TMC

Where I can see the graphics of navcore 9.510?

Thansk

You will have extra features like 'Easy Access Menu' (or something like that. Quick Menu?), IQ Routes, three panel display and... Advanced Lane Guidance.

Yeah, I surely do advice to do that if you have enough knowledge or experience.

Before we get wild & crazy updating your navcore, it would be nice to confirm that there is a usable map, with the desired features, for the area you need to cover. A 930.5563 map is full featured & will require a navcore up-date. A 930.5604 map does not have a feature that your ONE can't use, & it does not require a new navcore.

I'm trying the navcore to XL.
It works, but it's too slowly! Frighteningly slow, for each command it wait a life...

Any idea?

Thanks

What have you done?
Kindly specify your actions. I can't tell you anything if you don't give us specific information.

Please paste the content of your ttgo.bif file and remove your individual device data.

I delete all my old files, keeping only ttgo.bif
Then run the installer for the navcore XL. I have uploaded the map and enabled it.

Seeing that it was all very slow, I removed the Loquendo voice and download the "traditional" voice, via TT Home.

My ttgo.bif is this:

Which navcore version did you install ? For which device.

By the way, you should, in general, remove every file but NOT the folders with content before installing navcore.
Now you removed the zip, voice, ephem and other files.
You do read the instructions?

I installed the navcore for XL.

I read the instructions of the post http://www.navitotal.com/navcores-9-for-tomtom-devices-f124/universal-navcore-installer-t14168.html?hilit=universal%209.510
The point 3 says: "It is recommended to install on an empty device", so I removed all files (empty device)

My ttgo.bif is correct? What can I do to improve the performance?
Thanks

There's no doubt that this nc should run okay on your XL.

It will not be flying from the moment of first booting. Give it a few minutes. Walk through the menus and run a demo with advanced lane guidance.

So you kept a copy of your (personal) folders?
You could replace the cspeech files with empty files with exact name.
(so just remove file and insert new (text) file named e.g. cspeech_ITA.dat. Beware that you don't have a hidden extension .dat.txt!

Who told you this??

It's intended to preserve the art, ephem, photo, voices and zip files.
Those are not included in UI.

Especially old nc's can have root files which do not get overwritten by UI.

Works always if the TT has not been patched in a 'competing' manner before.

Btw: I made a small but essential to the quoted post #9. It was unclear.

Welcome to Navitotal.
Your 915 map is a bit out of date. 935 is the current version.
