2. What versions of the 860, 870 & 875 maps are you using?

I know what 875 map you are using. I'm asking about the 860 & 870 maps that you alluded to in post 41.

This info is no help at all. I want to know the version: 860.XXXX & 870.XXXX. If you still have the 860 & 870 maps, open their .pna files with notepad & post the contents..

ok.. lets see.... I got 860.3128 from TT itself... this one worked with the 9.205 that I DLed from here.

the map itself works, but the voices do not.

Please try replacing the files on your TT with the ones from this archive and try again :

kinda sorta success!!!!!! These steps seems backwards but follow along.

1: Totally wiped out TT HD of all files.
2: Turned on TT to show a loading sceen with a big red X on it (no OS present)
3: Ran TT Home. It asked if I wanted to update my TT and I clicked yes. I picked a voice from the list to DL and install.
4: Installed voice from TT Home clicked on update TT once again and it said no updates were available.
5: Rebooted TT w/ USB plugged in, shut down TT Home and installed 9.205 32 Meg device that I mentioned earlier.
6: After the installation completed, I reboot the TT. Heard the speaker click a few times like the audio drivers were engauging and a screen that said "no maps available" came up.
7: Connected to TT Home again; gave me the "this device does not have the proper firmware" blah blah. Ignored and updated TT. No updates available.
8: Rebooted TT w/ USB attached. Disabled TT Home and Installed map 875 mentioned above.
9: Rebooted TT same boot up sequence as step 6 except it said my voice selected was not available (stock Tom and Sue voice). I then selected the voice that I DLed from step 3 and 4 and viola!!!! I heard voices :)
10: Rebooted and ran TT Home blah blah error screen ignore and no updates avialable.
11: Reinstalled the voices I had DLed earlier. My Darth Vader voice worked. When I tried to use KITT I lost my voices again, So I am thinking the KITT DL voice is defective to the 9.205

update: it is definate that neither KITT voice will work with the 9.205, when you try to test voice either one after using fastactivate, it locks up the sound card drivers. Darth Vader voice works fine and the one I DLed from TT Home works fine. Thanks downunder and tendriver for putting up with me these last couple days

You are Welcome.

FYI, both KITT voices function quite well with 9.205 on a X20 device.
