9.205 downunder version does not work

Tue Sep 06, 2011 3:11 pm

I installed and played with multiple 8.xxx and 9.xxx navcore on my One 3rd (v8). I am currently using 9.101 w/o problem.

I wanted to try 9.205 downunder version, but it does not start. At first boot I have the "agree screen" but when I click it, the device freezes, the watchdog kicks after something like 20 seconds and the device reboot.

I saw this behaviour before with others versions, I guess the initial model/skin is not correct. Can I use a model.txt or setconfig.txt or others to force it to start as a ONE for instance?

TIA guys!

Go here: TomTom Automatic Navcore Installation Read the instructions carefully, then select the 9.205 version.

No, this is not what I want. I installed and used 8.412, 8.414, 8.545, 8.562, 9.061, 9.101, back and forth, multiple times. Downunder has posted his own version of 9.205, an archive with downunder password, he included multiple skins and others things. This is this version that I want to test.

I'm well aware of Downunder's post. [Please Register or Login to download file]
You said it didn't work, so I gave you an alternate.
If you are doing a clean install, I suggest you restore to a working setup & try an overwrite installation.

Sorry to be late, all my files use this password : downunder
But the password is mentioned in the corresponding threads as well.

@Frederic54 : The 9.205 you mentioned should work fine on a ONe if installed correctly.
To be sure it not the device that is incompatible (can happen) install the original 9.205 Cab on your device and overwrite with files from my version.
After that make a hard reset before you start the device.
If that still does not help you can try to edit the file "reskin" in the folder "skins" from slf-Self;slf-Self;17-Rider;34-ONE;35-XL;37-GO x50;18-GO x20;25-GO x30;24-GO x40
to 34-ONE;34-ONE;;18-GO x20;25-GO x30;24-GO x40
If the device still freezes with these settings than this version won't work on your ONE.
But the versions Tendriver mentioned will work as just fine, only real difference is that you can change the emulation over the menu.

Hi Downunder,

Does installing Navcore 9.205 or any other variant of SE 9.x on a Go 930 enable new features such as LIVE services which were made available to newer models? (e.g. Go 950 LIVE)

Cheers,
ck

Don't use this Navcore on GO 930, i have GO 920 and with this Navcore a lot of problems, use Navcore as 9.051 or 9.061.
For GO series is all Navcores 9.0xx

Thanks for the quick response! I'll download navcore a in the 9.0xx series. Does it enable the new features that were introduced in later model TomTom Go units?

Don't forget to put folder with voices in your Navcore, you can find all voices and Loquendo TTS here http://www.navitotal.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?126-Voices

LIVE services are a paid subscription option.

9.205 runs quite well on a Go 930

From my experience 9.205 is not the best Navcore for GO series, on my device always happens strange things when i use and test this Navcore, device self choose options, always is menu on but with Navcores like 9.xx or 8.398 i don't have problems.
About Thanks button, nobody cares how much someone give Thanks, without posting Thanks the thread is clear, when everyone posting Thanks this thread will be so big, that's a more work for you!
