Wich navcore/map for Tomtom Classic

Postby allejandro » Thu Feb 26, 2015 7:19 pm

I have updated an tom tom classic. One of the first tomtom's I think

It says: TomTom Go 4d00.001.

I've updated navcore with tomtom home, twice.

This is the info from ttgo.bif:

RamDiskVersion=20081205
BootLoaderVersion=53026
LinuxVersion=2344
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7903
ApplicationVersion=9183
UserLanguage=Nederlands

I can't seem to find maps wich will be good ones. I have tried Europe_South 5963.
Patching worked fine but tomtom says "No Maps Found".
What am I doing wrong and who can help me?

Thank you all in advance.
Kind regard, Rianne.

We have a wel sorted tutorial section as well as all the latest Navcores for even the oldest of devices.
I suggest to first update to a V9 -Navcore and then to use one of the latest full featured maps.

Rianne, you are running an old navcore. Even TT Home will update it.
TomTom Classic is no model. Please give us the first two digits (!) of the device ID directly under or next to the bar code underneath the device.
Study the table on each map collection page and see what maps are suited for which navcore
Running the latest official navcore is a nice beginning but running the modified software (from Downunder) is for many older models a very interesting alternative because you can use maps with more features.

Read and learn.
If you run into problems and report them you will get help.

3. Please give us the first two digits (!) of the device.

1. It may be old, but it the current Official Navcore for his/her device. TT Home will not update it any higher.
2. Au contraire!! The Go Classic, which was the first of the GO series, was a high end device, that came out in 2004.
3. The full device code is already in post 1!!
I do not give help by PM. It deprives our other members of a chance to learn. Please post your issue in the appropriate forum/thread. You will get an answer.

I skipped the GO part of the model info. My bad.
Indeed, the GO Classic is a model and the current nc is the latest official.
I do not see the device id code, but never mind GO Classic says enough.

I would advise a modded navcore but only when you are comfortable with the TT lingo.
