Visual - Mio unlock/shell

Postby dalderton » Thu Jul 01, 2010 10:23 am

Dalanik
Thanks for the update. I have an Australian Mio Moov 360 and the unlock seems to work the same as the other versions. Normal boot takes 65-70 seconds . I am not sure how to activate the fast boot although I pressed the stop (X) button when it came up after about 35-40 seconds and it went to the WinCE screen which had the default button on it but got no reaction when I pressed that.
I realise that you are unlikely to have access to a Australian Market Moov so this is not a complaint but Just to let you know how my unit reacts to the program. If there is something that I dont know about activating the fast boot please let me know.
Thanks again for the program, I have been using it since you started doing them and have had no important issues at all with them.
Regards Dennis Alderton.

Hello Dennis,

You activate it from the settings. So it is system screen (top one), then settings. Then you will see checkmark which says "fast boot"...

Dalanik Strange thing,I got Garmin going today,I had to change the visual .ini in the Flash Disk to change the path to Settings from \Flash Disk to \Storage Disc\Garmin\Settings I dont know if it was a mistake or not but it got Garmin going. The only thing is that when I exit Garmin and it goes back to Visual it is frozen,it begins to change the brightness settings and freezes. If I cancel the restore brightness box in the setup then it just freezes as soon as it gets back to the Visual Screen. It does not really matter as I am not very impressed with Garmin but it would be interesting to know why it happens. I have 7 different programs on the SD card but this is the only one that causes this reaction.
Regards Dennis.

There is no way it can be \Storage disk :-) From what I noticed, and that is why it's there, Garmin makes a \Garmin folder for settings, but it is deleted on every hard reset. That is why it's settings are copied to flash disk/storage card after every run. Maybe it is freezing because it can't find this folder? You can try experimenting with run_nav.mscr in scripts/navigation folder.

Code: Select all
   ElseIf( SelApp eq "Garmin" )
      If(not ProcExists("Port Splitter.exe"))
         Run(ProgramsFolder\"Port Splitter\Port Splitter.exe")
         Sleep(500)
      EndIf

      GarminSettingsDir=IniRead(VisualINI, "Garmin", "SETTINGS")
      XCopy(GarminSettingsDir\"*.*", "\Garmin", TRUE)

and

Code: Select all
   If( SelApp eq "Garmin" )
      ### Stop Port Splitter before killing it
      If(WndExists("Port Splitter V1.31"))
         ### Stop button
         SendCommand("Port Splitter V1.31", 1010)
         Sleep(500)
         ### Exit button
         SendCommand("Port Splitter V1.31", 2)
         Sleep(500)
      EndIf

      If(ProcExists("Port Splitter.exe"))
         Kill("Port Splitter.exe")
      EndIf

      XCopy("\Garmin\*.*", GarminSettingsDir, TRUE)

Dalanik. Sorry about the "Storage Disk" I actually changed the Visual.ini Garmin Settings path to /Storage Card/Garmin/Settings. I have all the Garmin program on the Storage Card. Garmin does not freeze when I switch it off, Visual freezes and I have to do a hard reset. This happens every time I use Garmin. I switch Garmin off and the unit instantly goes back to the Visual Program Icons screen ,then after a few seconds it goes to "SETTING DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS" and freezes with the indicator about half way across the screen. Then I must hard reset to get anything to work. As I said in the last post it does not really matter but I wonder how it can have any effect on Visual,
Very Odd Ignore this if you wish I have only recounted it for your information. Regards Dennis.

serfi:

It works (for C-series) on the same principle as Visual (SD unlock) so i he had problems running Visual, I doubt he will succeed with that one :) :) :)

I would need someone with Spirit with Windows CE6 (480x272 resolution) to test something for me. Please let me know if you have the time. Thanx! D>

Hello, first excuse me for my English, but i´m from Spain. I have installed visual gps in my Mio Moov 560 and it works perfect, but i need one thing, and your help. I want to change some things of the skins and i don´t know how, i need to put in a window of the menu only the icons of bluetooth and IGO. The reason is that my father is going to use it and he doesn´t know how to use it and i want to make it easier for him, thanks.

Cachi:

The best you can do without editing the scripts is check in settings
* hide apps+games
* hide missing apps

this will display only GPS, settings and info screens and hide all GPS icons that are not installed.

Here are the icons. They will be incorporated in next release:

[Please Register or Login to download file]

Just download, unpack and copy the folders to Visual\Skin directory. Then reboot (not fast-boot but normal) so that icons are re-read in the menu.
