Visual - Mio unlock/shell

Postby Jeemy » Thu Mar 08, 2012 9:45 am

Coreplayer: didn't help. I had read that you could go to Select Page....Video and change type to RawFrameBuffer, but this did not appear as an option, I tried the rest. Once I put these two files in you can go to Preferences, but no longer Select Page. Coreplayer crashes as soon as I try to load an mp4 file.

Fortuna: was crashing on startup. Now seems stable. Won't play my mp4 file but can keep experimenting with file types now. Crashes on exit.

Shinco: was crashing on load file. Now will not load.

I found a program called MioMediaPlayer (presumably belonging to the V735) built into the system and copied this into the programs, set one of the icons to load it. It seems to play video files fine first time and stably. Still seems to crash on exit a bit but seems to be OK if you just set it to play a video and don't mess around with it. Will leave it running over the course of the day and test a bit more.

For anybody interested these are the steps I took.

Copy MioMediaPlayer into Visual programs folder from root/Program Files.

Go into the Scripts and change the Flash player load script path to load the MioMediaPlayer instead of Flash - just cos I won't use the Flash player.

So this might help others having a similar problem.

Hello,

I have changed the wallpaper but do you know how to remove the 'Mio unlock/shell Visual Shell v1.14Rev.01' wording on the background? Thanks

the only way to access the flash disk is conecting to the PC. When you connect it, where does it say "usb sync"? on device or PC? I suppose you installed 320x240 version?

Can you try connecting to another PC? I don't know about A350 , but moovs generaly have built in that if it can't run the navi program for the xx'th time, it automatically starts usb connect program. So when I accidently deleted appstartupsec.exe on my, I could restore it by connecting to PC and turning on/off until after (like 20-30 times) usb connect was run.

Downloaded and running on a Mio Navman Spirit 575. All works Ok with both mio and Primo 2 software. Only minor thing is Primo will not recognise the built in TMC receiver.

Did you set up the tmc port and protocol in the sys.txt?

Erm, no, didn't realise I had to. Thanks for the tip, the sys.txt is as follows. (everything else after this just refers to speedcams). Which bits do I need to change?

Not so much edit, but add...

[tmc]
baud=38400
port="COM,1"
source="gns"

Edit the data to suit your device, you may need to add dll's as well, there was a thread in the iGO section recently dealing with this...

EDIT: dll's in this post http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?10468-How-to-make-TMC-work&p=88861#post88861

@maa1506

You do know that you have two [route] entries.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

If it doesn't work even after setting it in sys.txt, try adding to your visual.auto\auto.mscr script at the end:

Code: Select all
### inserimeto stringa per abilitazione TMC nei software IGO
Run(FlashDrive\"Visual\Programs\TroNik\PowerButton.exe")
sleep 1000
Notify = RegRead("HKLM", "Drivers\BuiltIn\SW_TMC", "Protocol" )
If ( Notify = 0)
   RegWriteDWord HKLM, Drivers\BuiltIn\SW_TMC, Protocol, 1
   Reset
EndIf

Hadn't noticed it, would that cause any significant problems? Navigation seems to be working ok but would it be best to delete one?

Thanks for the advice, I did a google to find the baud settings and came across the text below for Navman 575. I have copied it into the sys.txt and primo is now recognising the TMC receiver. Out of interest, what are the extra lines in the text for?
