Visual - Mio unlock/shell

I have Mio M400 with no SD card
Trying to install Visual with Igo Primo if possible or iGo8
Going with this :

* Copy folder Visual to the root of your Flash Disk

Select A, B or C method (one only):

A) Trigger from card, install from card, run from flash

B) Trigger from card, install from flash, run from flash

C) Completely from Flash

* Copy folder Visual.ins to the root of your Flash Disk
* Copy folder Visual.auto to the root of your Flash Disk.

If you have Mio Moov:

* open \My Flash Disk\Program Files\MioMap\appstartupsec.ini in editor

* change the lines:
RelativePath=TRUE
ProcessFile=Program Files/MioMap/MioMap.exe
to
RelativePath=FALSE
ProcessFile=\\..\\My Flash Disk\\Visual.auto\\auto.exe
* save

on taiwanese Moov 500:
* open \My Flash Disk\Program Files\System\processmgr.ini in editor
* change the original line to:
apcall00 = \My Flash Disk\Visual.auto\auto.exe

Do I completely scrub the directory on the Mio and then copy over the 3 Visual Folders and reboot sat nav if so all I get is 2 monitors with a USB in the biddle with arrow pointing to both ????

Since M400 doesn't have SD slot you must use method C. Copy all 3 folders to the flash disk, edit the appstartupsec.ini file according to instructions and reboot.

Getting the 2 monitors means you didn't do something according to the instructions and that it can't find the file to run.

i have a navman s30 32 mb device, the setupexe unlock does not work as install desktop is greyed out and i cant select it.Would this visual unlock do the trick and unlock the device?

Read the instructions for various mio devices and see if it contains the files that are edited to unlock the device i.e. appstartupsec.ini or processmgr.ini if I remember correctly. You have link to my site in 1st post.

Thanks to this excellent thread I now have the latest versions of iGo 8 and Primo 2 up and running on my Mio Spirit 685. I actually enjoy using it now!
My only outstanding issue is the usb problem that others have mentioned previously: I cannot connect to my PC when Visual is running - the usb buttons don't work. The only way to get a usb connection is to hit the reset button. Was a fix ever found for this or is it just something I have to put up with?
It's not a major issue - more an irritation that everything is not quite working as it should.

Edit: Never mind, I figured it out myself - you have to insert the usb plug AFTER pressing the usb button, not before as I was doing. Doh!
