FileFactory make it difficult, but not impossible to get maps, I find just refreshing the page every few seconds until a download slot becomes available works.

Try deleting Autorun.mscr. I had a miomoov 300 that would not detect gps device untill i deleted this file, but then the backlight is not at it's maximum. If this fixes your problem then you may need to use miopocket to unlock the mio with as they seem to have worked out how to fix the problem and still have the baclight working.

No GPS device means the hardware hasn't been detected, Usually it's Other NMEA Receiver, Baud 4800 and COM:2/SirfNavDrv depending on the model.

It will always be Other NMEA receiver
I have seen other guides suggesting using baud rates of 57600 and 115200 so try those
Tomtom lists the available COM ports during setup, It's usually COM:2 or SirfNavDrv if available

Lastly is this a Spirit model?

Thanks folks. Deleting the file means i now get a sat lock and it starts to navigate but keep getting the out of memory error no matter what I try. Any ideas?

There 'ya go.
TomTom will always have difficulty on any system with WinCE 6.x, and for that reason is usually not recommended.
Can you get it running by jumping through a lot of hoops? Yes.
Will it always be kludgy, unreliable, and prone to errors? Yes.

Use this instead, http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?8169-Run-iGO-Primo-1.2-on-Mio-Moov-and-Navman-S-series-(and-some-F-series)-in-ten-steps.

Primo can set the backlight itself and runs quite happily under wince 6

Hi. My first post here.

Everything went well till step 7. From Step 8 as the link for autoactivate is no longer available I installed fast activate and continued with instructions. After running fast activate and disconnecting the device, when I start TOMTOM it still comes up in french and If I go to third page by clicking "Suivant" I get an error saying "Cannot find iexplore(or one of its components). Make sure the ath and filename are correct and that all the requireed libraries are available"

My DEVICE

S90i NAVMAN
WINCE 5.0 (Do I need to update this?? IF SO how?)
I was using Australia Map 885 4095.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Map 885 4095 is the wrong map, try 885 4022 Also have sent you a PM.

@NRT - I have copied the Navigator you sent me and also copied the 885 4022 Map.

Now it is in English, but cannot detect the Map. On Clicking "next" it says that I can download 1 free map of my choice and the next page says how it can be done i.e via GPRS and Active Sync. When you click "next" I get an error saying cannot find iexplore(or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the requireed libraries are available". How do I get around this??

And why cant the device find the Map?
