Run iGO Primo 2.0 on Mio Moov and Navman S series (and some

A basic build of igo 8 is available at the top of post #1

Did you install miopocket before the unlock from this guide? And does the original software still work?

Also try deleting the file (backup first) "Autorun.mscr" from the unlock directory as sometimes the GPS hardware is not released back to the system after the original app is closed.

I don't know if you saw this but you should NOT have two unlocks on the same device.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

Hi I was hoping someone here may be able to help me. I've got a navman f10, I followed your guide and got igo running but I've run into a few snags.

I cant get it to autorun, when I make the link and start the device it just says it cant find primo2. I'm guessing it has something to do with the boot sequence, igo is on a sdcard and I think its running the autoruns before it mounts the card. Not a big problem but maybe easy to fix.

But I'm also getting low memory problems, after igo has loaded it just moans about low memory and wont do anything. However if I go to system settings and set the memory ratio as low as it will go I can then run igo fine, however this setting wont persist after a reset. I was hoping someone here may know something about this setting as I've freed up 200meg of storage memory but it wont let me allocate it to program memory, and I don't know why the setting wont persist after a reset?

Thanks Jon

Forget trying to run Primo on the F10, it has 32 meg of memory and Prino likes at least 64 and preferably 128 meg. Use iGO8.3 with no tts voices.

There is a small tool that will set the memory division at boot time, and you can use a mortscript sleep command to delay the launch of igo until the card is mounted, with 32 MB of memory it its recommended you stick with igo 8

thankyou, and yes the one from this thread. As I said though, if I manually set the system memory it runs fine, cant find anything about setting it at startup though, only things about config.bib which doesn't seem to exist on my f10 :S

I've posted the tool all over this forum, search for...

Set system memory division

Call from mortscript, note what the number is when you drag the slider to the left, should be somewhere between 64 and 512 and use that number as the argument in the script.

128 or 256 would be best.

Ah thank you, I was googling for it but didn't think to search the forum. I'm trying your Universal Shell atm, its very good and I've got the original smartST and the igo8 going on the sdcard with it while I tinker with primo. Can I just ask though, can Universal Shell set the memory differential amount, I can see the option "Set System Memory Divide" but can't see how to set the amount. I'm not sure if I'm just blind or still need Mort to do it? But then again I can't find the option to set it in mort either, not in its manual or in the forums. :(
But just an an update, its strange but whether I have poi's and road signs installed seems to make no difference to whether it will run or not. I removed all but one of the voices and it ran fine for about 10mins then quit saying out of memory. Right now I'm seeing how it goes with 'max_memory=29000000' set in sys.txt.
Thanks Jon

On universal shell the memory division is set to 512KB, using any system information type shell such as universal shell will have memory overheads, with a 32MB device I would forget any type of shell software and use a simple mortscript to set the division, load igo 8 and exit.

igo8 seems to run fine as is. It just seems weird to me that there's just about 100kB or so difference in primo running?
I'll see how primo runs with SetSystemMemoryDivisionKB.exe and mort. But its mostly just to see if I can get it running with just 32meg now, as igo8 is up and running.
Thanks Jon

You will struggle with primo on a 32MB device, I managed it once on navman icn 520 using primo 1.0 with no skins, tts, any content other than one map and one poi file, stripped out data.zip/branding.zip and even then still got the occasional out of memory crash.
