yeah its definitely a bit of a push. Another weird thing though is I set the memory too low and so it defaulted to 512, and yet primo still ran? If I don't try and set it and just leave it at 512 from boot it won't run. I didn't test it beyond just seeing if it would run though.
But set at 188 it seems to run ok, but not surprisingly doesn't like trying to calculate any routes aver 250 miles. Have to wait and see about stability as odds are it wont be any better than what you found.
Thanks Jon

You've done well to get this far with primo, at best on a 32MB device it's going to crash occasionally, you can try killing processes to get a few Kb back if you want to try everything, but I doubt it'll ever be crash free.

Hi, i have a Navman s40 and installed primo2 onto an 8gb sd card. The device keeps giving "program memory too low" message. I have delted the orginal navman prgoram but it made no differnce. Interestingly though, i i leave the naman program on the device itself, the navman prgoram runs fine but i still get the error message when trying to run primo2. J

How much memory does the S40 have?

Hi Guys, great instructions, i have a Mio 685 and have put the latest version of IGO Primo2 on and have downloaded 10384-Navteq-Q1-2012-Europe-Maps-POI-FDA...released-June-2012.
I have sifted through and picked out
United Kingdom_R3_NQ_2012.Q1_120530.fbl
United Kingdom_R3_NQ_2012.Q1_120530.fda
and copied them to Primo2/Content/Map
Is this correct, the folder also contains basemap.fbl
When the app fires up i have no mapping, just green ground below the blue arrow (i assume thats basemap?)
Just for info, i deleted all the maps under the Mio Navman folder, except one to make space (I have 2b flash only)
any help would be fantastic
Thanks

Yes, you did correct. I suppose the green indicates that Primo is starting up somewhere in Europe, some location not covered by the UK map, probably Berlin or Paris. Just wait for a satellite fix and you should be okay.

thanks for the reply, I'm pretty sure I've got a good fix, the lat and long is good and I've just gone for a quick spin round the block and the mph display was correctly changing speed???

Go to More -> Help -> About -> More -> Content -> Maps

Are the maps listed?

Thu Aug 09, 2012 7:16 pm

Hi Fatboyfun, no they are not listed, only basemap 2009.09, guess thats the problem :(

Thu Aug 09, 2012 7:22 pm

The map file was only 80meg, do you think the download cocked up?

Thu Aug 09, 2012 7:27 pm

Start with the obvious, The map has the .FBL file extension, the FDA file is driver alerts and is optional.

Is the FBL file in the Content\Map folder, and not inside another folder?
If yes, On your PC turn off "Hide known file extensions" in the folder options and check it's still an FBL file, Not .FBL.zip or similar.
If yes i'm assuming it's a bad download, so go here -> http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6824-UK-amp-ROI-Content-pack. and try again...

The United Kingdom_R3_NQ_2012.Q1_120530.fbl file is 77MB (80,786,960 bytes)
