Thanks guys but reading the thread that nabi suggested me, I realized that I'm not sure how to check if TMC works or not.

I downloaded GPSScan (http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?8650-i-need-%28gps.exe%29-for-check-my-gps-and-com.please-give-download-link-tq-so-much) and it gives some results (GPS found,COM 2,4800,NMEA) but nothing about TMC.

I didn't get anything from TMC-Scan. I need some advice to understand how it works.

I used MixserTester to test some port/baud combinations.
From log files:
Port COM 2 and COM 8 have strings starting with $GPGGA, $GPRMC,$GPGSA,$GPGSV.
Port COM 5, empty files.
Port COM 1 , six not readable bytes.

Can I use MixserTester to check if TMC works?
What should I see on log files?
Do you know the function of button "ident"?

I'm using the default skin. Should I use another one to better understand if TMC is working or not?

What I do know about the (Spirit) Moovs is very limited. I think - when a TMC is present, can you check it and did it work on the original software? - TMC and/or the port to use must be enabled in the Windows Registry. Otherwise it is blocked to use only by the original software. Fatboyfun can hopefully guide you.

About the ports GPS Scan found: isn't com1 the GPS port? Port 5 is probably the USB port. Port 2 and 8 is a mystery to me. Possibly the TMC port (a virtual port 2, port 1 would then also be virtual. ) and the hardware port (com8). But I am guessing here.

Yes, in the original software TMC works fine.
According to GPSScan, GPS port is COM 2. I double checked it.

Then could COM8 be the physical combined GPS/TMC port, COM2 the virtual GPS port and COM1 the virtual TMC port. Com5 the USB port. In ROM probably a port splitter (or sort of) is executed by the original software and splits COM8 into COM1 and COM2.
The same combination is found on the Medions.

There is a registry edit that you need to make on Mio Moov's to enable the TMC, I have seen posts by some users that some Spirit models need this edit also...

Add this to Autorun.mscr...

RegWriteDWord ("HKLM", "Drivers\BuiltIn\SW_TMC", "Protocol", "1")

You may need to soft reboot, can't remember..?

The original instructions say to use these sys.txt entries, don't know if they're all necessary, but it won't hurt to try...

I added to sys.txt some lines I found around, similar to yours, and after a lot of tries, it seems that the following are necessary to show a TMC icon in iGo.

I spent some time trying some dlls but it's so time consuming that I decided to give up. At least for this Christmas holidays :)
I removed iGo and now I'm using the orginal software and TMC works well. For all the rest, I will miss iGo!!!

hi, I went through the steps outlined in this thread and it worked on a Navman S70.
Only installed one map for Portugal (the Q3 Navteq) and the POI file.
The problem is that I can't find very basic POIs, like hotels, Hospitals, etc.
Even the original, very old Navman software/maps had better POIs. Did I do something wrong, or is there a better list of POI for Portugal?
Does the POI filename need to have the exact same name as that of the map?
For instance, the map file is "Portugal_R3_NQ_2012.Q3.fbl" and the POI file is "Portugal_NQ_Extended_2012.Q3.poi".

The extended POI is an extension to the normal POI, therefor you need the normal POI too to have the basic POI.

I left the Q3 Extended poi file and added the regular Q1 poi file. It works.
Is it a problem that they have different filenames, or does Primo2 look for POIs in all files placed inside the POI folder?

Also, if I were to add the TomTom list of POI to the same folder, what would happen? Would it crash, or just get duplicates in the list?

Or perhaps even better would be to just join the two lists and remove duplicates - is this something people do?

Finally, hsp seems like a nice feature, but I can't find any for Portugal. Does it exist?

hi guys, finally installed iGO after a failed TomTom install (well map aren't compatible with my device)

I'd like to ask a question, is it possible if the MAP for R3 Sea content, namely Philippines, will ever get an update.
The thread was posted last 12.16.12

I mean how long does it takes before someone update the map?
Also why is it that MAP only was posted for Philippines and Taiwan

but MAPS, POIs for Brunei, HK, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand
then there is Buildings for HK, Malaysia, Singapore, Macau, Indonesia, and Taiwan

Does it mean there is no POIs on Philippines MAP?

Yes it's very probable that you will see a future update for the Philippines. Unfortunately, that geographical is not among the most popular in terms of content. Thus, the updates do not happen as frequently as some others. No. There are no POIs yet for the Philippines that are in Navitotal's library. If someone out there has them, they are not sharing.
