XXL 2GB no 970 map available with The Netherlands & Spain?

Wed Jun 22, 2016 9:43 pm

I'm looking for a 970 map with The Netherlands (Holland) and Spain -and all countries in between- that will fit on my XXL 2GB device.

Based on the pictures in the thread 970 Map Collection Only the following maps should qualify.
http://www.navitotal.com/maps-v9xx-f179/970-map-collections-only-t18704.html#p151145

Image
Europe South 970 7466
Should contain Belgium,The Netherlands and Luxembourg (BeNeLux) and Germany.
After downloading and testing these seem to be missing..

Included maps are: Albania (not in picture?), Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina (not in picture?), Cyprus (not in picture?), France, Gibraltar (not in picture?), Greece (not in picture?), Italy, Kosovo (not in picture?), Croatia (not in picture?), Liechtenstein, Macedonia (not in picture?), Malta, Monaco, Montenegro (not in picture?), Portugal, San Marino, Serbia (not in picture?), Slovenia (not in picture?), Spain, Vatican City, Switzerland.

Is the linked map incorrect or is the picture no longer valid for 970 maps?

Image
Europe West 970 7466
Should cover Spain, Portugal and Italy.
After downloading and testing these seem to be missing..

Included maps are: Belgium, Germany (not in picture?), France, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Austria (not in picture?), UK, Switzerland
Is the linked map incorrect or is the picture no longer valid for 970 maps?

Image
Southern Europe 970 7468
Based on picture it misses The Netherlands.
No 7466 available and 7468 does not contain IQ Routes + Advanced Lane Guidance.
So I did not try this one yet..

Image
Western Europe 970 7466
Seems to be covering everything I need but more (Ireland, UK, Norway, Sweden and Finland).
After downloading, the 7466 seems to be 2,02GB where the max available size of the device is just 1,91GB (current available size is 1,71GB).

Is there any 970 7466 version that:
  1. Contains The Netherlands - Spain?
  2. Will fit on the XXL 2GB?

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Map coverage changed a little bit since the 965 series. So the pictures are no longer valid. Sorry.
The Europe South 970.7466 doesn't cover NL anymore. But you can always try the map Western_Europe 970.7466 without de Cspeech files and the file poi.dat. It's the only map 970 wich covers NL and ESP with lane guidance. Navigate to original TomTom poi's is no longer possible.

Western_Europe_1GB 970_7490 is also an option, but you don't have lane guidance.

Thanks a lot Shaman. Good to know it wasn't just me :)

I used NavCore rider nc 9.510installer1.1 - Go models option which resulted in no sound for the emulated modes (worked correctly for self mode). After reinstalling with the Soundfix option the sound worked also in the emulated modes.

I used the map Western_Europe 970.7466
Removed the Cspeech files and cphoneme.dat but kept file poi.dat.
Removed the License and ASR folders as well.
To be able to patch the map and copy the speed cams I had to remove the SWAP file as well (will this have any negative implications?).

The device seems to function correctly. I was a bit worried the device shut down every 5 minutes but upon reading some other threads it seems to be caused by using an USB cable instead of the 12v cigarplug.

If your XXL is a 64mb device, you don't realy need the swap file.. It's more like a virtual memory file, most needed for 32mb devices. So if it works fine for you, don't change it.

Good to know I don't need the SWAP file on my device. Still works great.
